On a serious note, I don't think I like the staff. Originally I was going to add a variety of different ways the mage will kill people, from staff to no staff, different spells, etc, but in the end it just seems cooler to kill people at a snap of the finger. I mean, everyone does constantly say (even the Inquisitor) that a mage doesn't need a staff to do magic. We even witness a few mages doing magic without a staff in hand. So all in all, a no staff kill is lore friendly. But idk. Maybe someone else likes the staff?
