Installed this with the daupdater and worked perfectly, thank you! I always feel like I'm rushing to get through the first quest so that I can get Zevran in my party, this solves that problem.
I've used this mod on a previous playthrough and had no issue, but I tried uninstalling it for a new playthrough and quite literally can not uninstall this mod. I uninstalled the DAzip, started a new game, but the cutscene still played right after the scene in Denerim with Loghain and Teagan. I went into the addinn folder and deleted the mod files that were still there somehow? reloaded the game. The scene still played. I tried repairing my game, then completely uninstalling and re-installing my game and reloading from before lighting the Tower of Ishal. The cutscene still plays earlier than it should in vanilla, and Zevran is still encountered right after leaving Lothering. I cannot for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong?
Check your Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\data folder too, or try DAO Mod Manager for a clean uninstallation. And use the script version next time.
"instead of waiting until you have completed two world events to get ambushed"
Not sure what this means. After you leave Lothering, you meet Zevran after completing one of the treaty quests. Don't know what "two world events" they're talking about.
And although The Urn of Sacred Ashes is not technically a treaty quest (and is part of The Arl of Redcliffe treaty quest), it counts for this. So you can leave Lothering, go straight to Denerim to start TUOSA quest - when you finish that quest and get the Ashes, you get the scene of Zevran being hired.
TUOSA is much shorter than the other treaty quests, so while it's still a wait until you get him, it's not as long.
TUoSA is arguably a late game encounter considering the numbers of mages you meet. It'd be a bit hard to do it right after Lothering (Haven't tested that method though)
Edit: If Zevran isn't appearing in your game, I made a fix here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iIJTFDh65dvH0REZ2BRRThKhAG9mbpEV/view?usp=sharing
First, download the file labeled "zevranASAP script only" from the mod's page and put it in your override folder. Then download my fix and put it in your override folder, and then type "runscript zz_vimciro" into the console (without quotes). The next time you're traveling on the world map, the first Loghain cutscene will play again, but then the second Loghain cutscene introducing Zevran will play after that. Your next random encounter will be a normal encounter, but the second one will be Zevran's encounter and everything will proceed as normal.
If that doesn't work, you may have to create a new folder inside your override folder called "zevran" and put sp_module_travel.ncs inside of that (so the full file path is Dragon Age\packages\core\override\zevran\sp_module_travel.ncs for example).
Original message: If you want to use this mod, read the following carefully:
You probably don't want to use the DAZip version, because it has a high chance of being overridden by other mods. For best results, use the compiled script version.
The file that must be present in your override is sp_module_travel.ncs, which is labeled on the Nexus download page as "zevranASAP script only". It must be in your override folder before lighting the beacon at the top of the Tower of Ishal.
You'll know the mod is functioning properly if the cutscene introducing Zevran plays immediately after leaving Flemeth's hut while en route to Lothering for the first time. What should happen is you'll see the first cutscene of Loghain assuming power, then the one with Arl Howe introducing Zevran, then you'll load into the encounter on the road where you meet your mabari. If the cutscene with Zevran does not play then, you need to uninstall the mod and start over from a save from before lighting the beacon at the top of the Tower of Ishal.
Again, do not use the DAZip; I would also caution against using the .override version and just dragging and dropping the file sp_module_travel.ncs into your override folder directly after downloading it from the Nexus download labeled "script only".
The mod works, but it fucks up the scripts of Redcliffe village, similarly to the "Improved atmosphere" mod.
Using this mod, you may encounter problems such as:
- you may get randomly teleported to Thomas, - no cutscene of Redcliffe village being attacked, - bugged Redcliffe village fight: the soldier from the lower parts of the village will run to you in the middle of the first phase of attack, effectively making it impossible to save everyone, - after the fight, chantry board will never show up, - your gear will randomly lose its set properities, - very frequent crashes.
can you make Taliesen ASAP mod?, to move this encounter to early stage of game, normally you have to wait to nearly end of game (Landsmeet quest), i don't want to wait, i had such mod before i fixed my PC, now it's vanished from my hard drive, and i can't find in internet
After all kinds of unsuccessful attempts at getting this great mod work (including temporarily emptying my complete override and data folders and deleting Qwinn's patch), I found a solution that worked perfectly well, at least for me:
- deinstalled and deleted all versions (dazip, override) of this mod I installed in my earlier attempts - unchecked the mod's corresponding box in the game's "Downloadable Content" - "Installed Content" section - downloaded the "Compiled script only" version of the mod's file - unzipped it (or un"rar"ed it, to be exact ;-) ) - placed the "sp_module_travel.nsc" manually into my override, not using Mod Manager or any other tool - ... and it worked immediately. There was no conflict with any of my other numerous mods, neither with Qwinn's Patch.
Oof, you just saved me hours of my life. I noticed that the override version broke my game only after leaving Lothering. I followed your instructions and loaded a save just after Ostagar. Everything works just fine now. Thanks for sharing!
I seem to be stuck in lothering and it will not let me leave the area. It seems like this only happened after I added the mod this well. any suggestions?
Same here. I don't even have the Qwinn's patch, but still, no Zevran. I have to start a new game and hope that I have erased every single file of this mod.

My fix was adapted from a script found on the Dragon Age wiki which was written by a user named Vim, so credit to them as well. For reference purposes, you can find that original script here if you ever need to make your own to fix a different plot flag.

Zevran didn't show in lothering, is this because i have the wardens women mod, that change zevram to be a female lady?
ideleted the dazip and put the conscript in the override, and i got the scene with him, bt he dony show up yet, where is he in Lothering?
