I wanted some natural-looking freckle tattoos that I could use with my favorite skin textures.
When I couldn't find anything I liked, I decided to see if I could make something myself, using my own freckly skin as a guide.
Face markings may distort or move based on the morph, so the freckles may not look exactly the same on every face.
Freckles aren't perfect circles. They're often splotchy, faded, and of various circular shapes.
As I tested them on various morphs, I tried to create variations that hopefully fit most faces/skin tones.
I wanted to make them look natural while matching the original DAO art style.
And I tried to prevent them from looking cartoonish or like dirt splotches and ink dots.
I'm mostly happy with how they look on my characters.
Or maybe they're terrible-looking, I don't know.
I grew up wanting to erase all my freckles (because there was a time when they weren't a part of the
modern beauty aesthetic), so it's a bit comical to me that I'd spend this much time creating them for my video game characters.
But here we are.
I may make a replacement tattoo file for Character Creation. I just needed to take a break after staring at these files for over a week.
