First of all, big thanks to Firinneach for allowing me to use the text they wrote for this mod.

This mod brings Companion letters for Awakening as Codex entries. As some of you may know, a romanced Leliana or Zevran will send you a letter in Awakening, informing you of their whereabouts. It always bugged me a bit that none of the other companions did so, or that Zev or Leli didn't send you a letter if you weren't romancing them.

This mod aims to fix it my adding these letters to your Storage Chest in Vigil's Keep's Throne Room. They will be added automatically and won't reappear after you have gained these. They will appear also mid-save, so no need to start a new file to get these.

NEW IN 2.0: Now includes letters from all companions besides Morrigan, as I felt it didn't fit for the story. And with multiple variations available. And without a need to start a new save.

2.1 addition: Sten now has multiple letters depending on your race and if your Mabari was recruited or not. Oghren's typo fix is included. Orlesian Warden now can receive two letters from Alistair, one where he romanced the Hero of Ferelden and one where he didn't. It's best used with Shanamah's excellent Orlesian Warden Appreciation that allows you to import Dead Warden's world state to Awakening.

The mod includes two folders for Leliana, Loghain, Shale, Wynne and Zevran & 12 folders for Alistair. CHOOSE ONLY ONE FOR EACH COMPANION. Preferably the one that fits in your save. I Included romances for Alistair, Leliana and Zevran to be interchangeable from each other, since some players might have Poly-romance mod installed.

You can safely delete any of the companion folders you don't want to use. They are all modular so the mod works even without them. Say if your character didn't recruit Sten or Loghain or you hated their guts, you can just delete "Sten" and "Loghain" - folders and their letters won't appear in the Storage Chest or in your Codex.

Installation:

Just put the Awakening Companion Letters -folder in your override-folder in Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override. Don't like it? You can safely remove it without any issues.

You can just rename the folder to have z_ in front of it, which allows it to take priority in loading the letter. With this way you don't have to delete the other letters from your override.

But what if I already installed 1.0 and want to use 2.0?

It's fine, new version is compatible with the old one, so you can safely remove the old one from override and use this one.  codex entries are left untouched and new ones will now appear.

Currently no compatibility issues are known.

Possible future updates
In the future, I plan to write more letters from different characters from DAO that reflect your choices. However, doing this requires a lot more work than just updating these Companion letters so it will take time.

What if I can't access the Vigil's Keep anymore but still want to receive this letters?

You can download getsetplotflag from here and then type: runscript getsetplotflag set cod_bks_<companion>_letter 0 1 and press enter to receive the letter. Just replace the term <companion> with any of the companions whose letter you want to receive (Alistair, Leliana, Loghain, Oghren, Shale, Sten, Wynne or Zevran).
