About this mod

Updates Dragon Age Origins' soundtrack with the music from Inquisition.

V1.3: After one year of the first release, I've add 4 as separate downloads and made a small edits.

Tired of the same old DAO soundtrack when replaying the game? Not to worry! With this mod, I've updated Dragon Age Origins' soundtrack with the music from both DA2 and Inquisition, to make it feel more in sync with Inquisition. I've nothing against Zur's OST, as I've used his soundtrack here in as well, but I wanted to update this with soundtrack from Inquisition, as I prefer that.

And yes, this has soundtrack updates for base game, Awakening, Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt. I really liked Leliana's song's OST, so I didn't do anything for it.Since Stone Prisoner, Return to Ostagar and Warden's Keep uses the OST of the base game, no need to upload new files for them.

NOTE: This isn't a perfect one. Since the music files have different sizes and lengths, there can be some issues. Like the music cuts in odd places, the ost from another place keeps playing even if you left it (for example Chantry theme in Lothering). If that happens, just load the area again.

I have just finished a full playhthrough with this and didn't notice any other issue I didn't mention or a bug.

What music have you used?
Here is a list to what to except in this soundtrack:
* Fenris theme/Mage pride combination is used for Camp's theme (I love it and thought it fits perfectly for Camp)
* Romance scenes use the Thedas love theme
* Mage Tower now has DA2's soundtrack as it's ost during Mage Origin.
* Chantry music of DA2 is used instead of DAO.
* All the Tavern's now use Hanged Man theme (either day or night version)
* Descent's soundtrack is used in the Deep Roads and in Jarvia's Lair
* Trespasser's soundtrack is used in Nature of the Beast's lairs and in Witch Hunt.
* Fools Rush In (the theme from DA Keep) is the new "shop" theme
* The Place of All Fears and Pride Demon Battle theme are the OST for Fade sections of the game (and in Golems of Amgarrak)
* Champions of the Just and the Seeker variant are used as the horrifying themes for Arl of Redcliffe's castle portion.
* Urn's Gauntlet section uses the Eluvians' Crossroad theme.
* In Hushed Whispers and Alexius theme are used in Broken Circle's tower sections
* Nature of the Beast also uses themes from the Lost Themple/Emerald Grraves
* The new Darkspawn battle theme is "Siege of Adamant"
* Ostagar now uses Samson's theme during it's daytime and Korcari Wilds use Jaws of Hakkon ost
* Battle of Haven OST is used during the final battle of Denerim
* Redcliffe now has Captured Keep as it's new ambient theme and Fereldan Frostback is the new OST for the fight
* Denerim, Haven, Frostback Mountains and Lake Calenhad now use battle themes from Leliana's song (In the Dungeon and Street Fight)
* Human Noble Origin and the Landsmeet sections now use Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts and it's variations (like Exploring the Winter Palacve) as the new OST
* The Final Battle OST with Archdemon is now Doom Upon All the World
* Cassandra's companion theme is used during epilogue and Eamon's Denerim estate
* In Awakening: Vigil's Keep and it's battle theme are now Western Approach and Adamant Fortress
* It mostly uses the same themes of base game otherwise, except Mother's Lair has the Elder One theme and the fights with Architect and the Mother now have Guardians of the Past.
* Golems of Amgarrak has the same ost like in the Descent, except it has a new twist in it that fits with the area
* Witch Hunt has Well of Sorrows as it's opening, Saarath theme when fighting with Varterral, Inquisition's Epilogue as the ending theme and Lost Elf theme as the ambient when talking with Morrigan

Most of the ambient themes in cities are unchanged (like in Denerim and Orzammar for example).

HOW TO INSTALL
There are multiple ways to install these. For each music you downloaded, there are following options:
DAO Base Game - Inquisition Music

You can install the files in the following locations
* Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override
or
* YOUR GAME LOCATION\Dragon Age Origins\packages\core\override (create if doesn't exist)
Or you can overwrite the games' base files
* YOUR GAME LOCATION\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\packages\core\audio\sound

DAO Awakening - Inquisition Music
You can install the files in the following locations
* Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override
or
* YOUR GAME LOCATION\Dragon Age Origins\packages\core_ep1\override (create if doesn't exist)
Or you can overwrite the games' base files
* YOUR GAME LOCATION\Dragon Age Origins\packages\core_ep1\audio\sound

DAO Golems of Amgarrak - Inquisition Music
You can install the files in the following locations
* Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Addins\dao_prc_gib\core\override (create if doesn't exist)
or
* YOUR GAME LOCATION\Dragon Age Origins\Addins\dao_prc_gib\core\override (create if doesn't exist)
Or you can overwrite the games' base files
* YOUR GAME LOCATION\Dragon Age Origins\Addins\dao_prc_gib\module\audio\sound

DAO Witch Hunt - Inquisition Music
You can install the files in the following locations
* Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Addins\dao_prc_str\core\override (create if doesn't exist)
or
* YOUR GAME LOCATION\Dragon Age Origins\Addins\dao_prc_str\core\override (create if doesn't exist)
Or you can overwrite the games' base files
* YOUR GAME LOCATION\Dragon Age Origins\Addins\dao_prc_str\module\audio\sound

You can either toss the folder of the base game, or awakening (DAO BASE Game - Inquisition Music or DAO Awakening - Inquisition Music) you are playing in the Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override (NOTE: USE ONLY ONE, AS THE FILES HAVE THE SAME NAMES, MEANING THE LAST FOLDER WILL OVERRIDE ALL THE OTHERS. DO NOT PUT THE LOCATED IN THESE FOLDER TO THE SAME FOLDER). Golems of Amgarrak or Witch Hunt folders cannot be installed using this way.
The game starts crashing, if you put them in override.

I would recommend making backups first, if you plan to use the overwrite method.

Questions and Answers

1.) HELP! I HAVE NO AMBIENT OR FIGHT MUSIC!
A.) Means you have something conflicting in the override. This can happen if you put the folders to override. Just make sure you have only of these folders in there and the one you are currently playing.

2.) Can't you combine these to one file that could be put in the override?
A.) I haven't found out a way to do that.

3.) The music cuts in odd places during the DLC campaigns? Like for example in Vigil's keep?
A.) Yes, this is a known issue. I couldn't fix it, due to DLC campaigns using shorter music files than the base game.

4.) I PUT THE GoA/WH folder to my override and my game crashes at launch!
A.) Yes, that is expected. Since those two didn't have main theme in their files, it doesn't play and the game crashes. The only way to experience these is to overwrite the base game files in the locations told in the previous section..

In other words/Compability:
If you have any "music_bank_strm_new" -named file in your override, it will always overwrite any other music file you have in your game's folders. This mod doesn't otherwise conflict with any other mod.

BIG THANKS TO
* Trevor Morris and Inon Zur for creating this amazing music. I own none of the music used here.

* setiweb for his  instructions on how to edit these music files. Check his Witcher 2 music mod for instructions if you want to do this yourself.

* Score Forge on youtube for their work on uploading all this OST (the camp theme was their creation for example).
