Dragon Age: Origins
Grey Wardens of Ferelden

=================
Description/Details:
=================

Gives the items from the Grey Wardens of Ferelden mod stats much closer to those of vanilla DAO gear.

All items can only be equipped by Grey Warden characters. (See the 'Optional files' downloads area for a version without the Grey Wardens-only restriction.) Most items have had the 'No attribute requirements' state removed; the mage armor is the exception to that rule.

--Massive (Grey Warden Commander)--
Stats are the same as vanilla Effort set

+2 Constitution
+15% to healing effects recieved
+1 strength
+1 armor
Set bonus (4 pieces) -10% fatigue

--Heavy (Grey Warden Heavy)--
Stats are similar to vanilla Diligence set

+.5% combat health regen
+8 armor
+5 willpower
Set bonus (4 pieces) +5 defense

--Medium (Grey Warden Scout)--

+4 attack
+3 dexterity
+25 stamina
Set bonus (3 pieces) -25% fatigue

The hood has +2 cunning, but is not required for set bonus

Note: Changed the metal 'jingle' sound effect associated with the chest to the light armor 'leather' sound asset.

--Light (Grey Warden Arcane)--

.25% combat health regen
+2 spellpower
+1 magic
+5% lightning damage
Set bonus -10% fatigue + +5 defense

The hood has +1 willpower, but is not required for set bonus.

Notes: Changed the metal 'jingle' sound effect associated with the chest to the light armor 'leather' sound asset.
Set has 'No attribute requirements' as the pieces being light armor puts glass cannon mage characters at a disadvantage, as the strength (or dexterity, if using a light-armor-uses-DEX mod) required to equip the gear at higher tiers is impractical.
The 'Arcane' armor set can only be equipped by mage characters.

--Grey Warden Shield--
Same stats as vanilla Eamon's Shield.

+6 defense
+25 stamina

--Grey Warden Longsword--
Stats similar to vanilla Imperial Edge.

+2 damage
+3% melee critical chance
+4 attack
+2 damage vs. darkspawn

--Grey Warden Longsword (both regular and Dwarf-only swords)--

Stats similar to vanilla Asala

+1 willpower
+1.5 armor penetration
+6 attack
+2 damage vs. darkspawn

--Grey Warden Longbow--
Stats same as vanilla Marjolaine's Recurve

+3 cunning
+3 damage
Rapid aim (0.3s)

--Grey Warden Dagger--

+2 armor penetration
+4 attack
+10% crit/backstab damage
+2 damage vs. darkspawn

--Grey Warden Staff--
Stats same as vanilla Shaperate's Blessing staff

+2 willpower
+0.5 mana regeneration in combat
+10% cold damage

--Massive (Blighted Grey Warden Commander)--
Stats are the same as vanilla Effort set/Grey Warden Commander

+2 Constitution
+15% to healing effects recieved
+1 strength
+1 armor
Set bonus (4 pieces) -10% fatigue

The original files for the Blighted set have a 'unique' flag set on each item. For some reason, this prevents the pieces from having their material tier increased in the usual ways. I've removed that flag, and the set can now be tiered up from T1/Grey Iron. (For users who wish to retain the 'unique' flag, at the expense of being able to improve the gear, I've included an alternate set of files, zz_tsm_GWoF_rebalanced_alt.)

=================
To Install:
=================

1. Install the CORE Grey Wardens of Ferelden main file (Core Mod GWoF - REQUIRED/Core Mod GWoF - REQUIRED-3258-2-5.dazip).

2. Place the zz_tsm_GWoF_rebalanced folder in the game's manual override directory, i.e. [user]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override. (To retain the 'unique' flag on the Blighted Warden Commander set, use the zz_tsm_GWoF_rebalanced_alt folder instead. INSTALL ONLY ONE version!)

3. Create a new folder in the override folder, and name it something like GWoF_CORE. Move the Wardens_of_Ferelden.erf archive from the override folder to the new, nested folder. (My edited files will not work correctly if the ERF is left in the root of the override.)

=================
To Uninstall:
=================

1. Delete the Place the zz_tsm_GWoF_rebalanced (or zz_tsm_GWoF_rebalanced_alt) folder from the game's manual override directory, i.e. [user]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override.

2. Uninstall GWoF as you would normally. Delete the GWoF_CORE folder as well.

Known Issues:
=================

Best used when starting a new game. If installed into an existing save, items already obtained may not reflect edits from this mod. If such is the case, new updated copies of all items can be obtained via the developer console.

I do not use the NPC equipment component of GWoF, so I have no idea whether this mod will negatively impact it. Likewise, I am not a Improved Atmosphere user, so I do not know if there are any compatibility issues with that mod (or any other mod that affects NPC Grey Wardens equipped with items from GWoF.)
