Hi! So sorry for the message but I was working on trying to get Female Tabris to work for human female instead of elf :< When I do get the morph to show, the head is phasing RIGHT into my shoulders and I don't see anyone else mentioning such a problem?
I'll put names with the images, though most of them are self explanatory
Starting from the first one: Female Tabris, Merrill, Female Amell, Male Mahariel, Male Cousland Female Brosca, Flemeth, Female Tabris as human, Male Aeducan, Cullen, Female Cousland Last image starting from the top; Oren (human noble origin), Marethari, Tranquil proprietor (Wonders of Thedas store) Orianna (human noble origin), Isabela and the Ostagar Nurse
hi, sorry, i installed a preset and all of the required mods, and everything shows up fine, but i cannot change the color of anything (skin, hair, eyes, makeup, etc.). i also cannot change the complexion used. is this normal? if not, i'm not really sure what i did wrong for that specific thing to happen
edit: and i want to clarify the only sliders i cannot change/move are the colors and skin complexion. every single other slider works fine
nevermind i fixed it. for some reason when the chargen values got put in the xml file the quotation marks got turned into special characters but only notepad++ showed these and i had to go in and change them :|
not at all, they can be used for any of the classes ^^ (most are race bound for obvious reasons, but the heads can be swapped freely between classes) so if you wish to use my Mahariel morph as a City elf or Mage then that's totally fine
the way it works it that when you load it into the character creation (by adding the line beneath elf male heads) you should be able to use the head as well. I advice to make a dummy character with the head morph you want, and then use this program > link? in order to change the head, then delete the dummy afterwards or just start a new game with the headmorph in the character creator, whichever works for you ^^
First of all, thank you very much for your response. I didn't expect some1 to answer : )
most of your advice I can comprehend and the mod you posted seems to be perfect for that scenario. Thank you :) Unfortunately I'm in need for a bit more guidance :'D..
I don't know which "line" in which folder/file you mean exactly. And I apparently don't know where to place the "Mahariel files" (The mrh-folder and the em_mahariel.mop
I downloaded mods in the past successfuly but I'm new to DAO modding ^^
Let's see, I'll try to explain... you don't need the mhr file for the morph to work, just the files that are included in the readme, and of course the .mop file put all those files and the .mop file in your override folder, typically that's at the following directory on your pc My Documents > BioWare > Dragon Age > packages > core > override (same folder you put any other mods that don't require installation)
in that folder there's a file called chargenmorphcfg.xml which should have sections that are named hair, head, eyes etc.
open up this file with a text editing program like for example notepad, inside the file maneuver over to the section that says <heads> (located at the top of the file) and then search for <elf_male>
then add a line that says <resource name="em_mahariel.mop" /> (I suggest doing it at the end of the section so you'll be able to find it more easily when you open up the character creator)
the eyelashes are part of Elise's mod called unique face textures for companions DAO edition, the folder inside the mod is called el_textures (download either of the main files), and the file in question is this one > pf_ulm_elbas_0d.dds you can delete everything else if you don't want those files
the eye textures are included in this mod > KH_Creations, ?for them you'll want the KH_TOOLSET FILES download
The actual Mahariel Morph loads into the Character Creation without crashing now. but it fails to load the Skin Texture. (He has like a bronze skin instead) I installed SJC's Skin textures as I mentioned ( it's 4 png files) Also the mod manager tells me that SCJ's Skins, Elven Hairstyles and Emporium are incompatible but I can't tell why. Sry for the inconvenience.
I think the reason for his skin is due to it being a skinblend between two skins (one from SJC’s skins and the other from Bandit Emporium) As to why the mod manager (not sure which one you’re using) says they’re incompatible…I’m not sure why it’d tell you that. I tend to load them all into my game without problems. Though then again, the only things I load into my chargen are skin, hair and eye colors. Everything else I just put into my override folder without actually adding them. (Also keeps my game a lot tidier and faster upon entering character creation)
Since they are part of the morph they will work even if they aren’t actually part of the chargen.
The Skin still fails to load. Everything else does. I figured out why my modmanager thinks files are incompatible. When I remove the Chargen-File from em' they are compatible again xD...Which is redundant in the end because I merge them into one, right? Could it also have to do with wether I have to choose the "Whiter Vanilla Teeth" or "Realistic Teeth"-option in the sjc's skin mod?
The last idea I have is it somehow interferes with the Dragon Age Redesigned mod. But actually it shouldn't. If checking this does not help I think I leave it be lol But again thank you very much for your commitment! That's so nice :)
I .......I installed the wrong SJC's Skin mod x'D......I realized when I downloaded your file again a window popped up with the requirements + Links. Me feelin' stupid
However, your Mahariel morph does look very good ingame. He has so much more character than the initial presets :D
i think some mods are clashing with the ones i need like the dracomies textures and the pineapple vibrant colors and i cant properly use more skin colors or the freckled skin for the female elf
Dracomies textures should be part of Dragon Age redesigned as an optional download/installation so long as you have the files installed like I mentioned in my other post it shouldn't be conflicting.
I should point out the one in question is a blended skin I made using two skins in the toolset, this might be why they aren't working. Make sure you read the readme provided, and if it still doesn't work let me know and I'll try my best to help out.
However, I do suggest using a chargenmorph compiler, make sure all the chargenmorph files are in separate folders (otherwise they override each other and you don't want that) use the compiler and after it's finished allow it to search for conflicts, to which the program should be able to search for them and delete them if you wish.
i think im way too new at mods to learn this stuff i now have a clean chargmorph file but i dont know how to install the long wavy hair or anything else in that file. anyone able to do like an video tutorial for me?
I'm not sure if I understand your question entirely, but I'll try to explain regardless.
So first you open up the chargenmorph file with an editing program like notepad/WordPad(should be automatically installed on any Windows pc) then navigate toward the entry you wish to edit. For example, say that you wish to add a hairstyle to the human female, then navigate down toward the hair section and find the human female entry. Then add in the line <resource name="hf_har_[name of hair mod]_0" cut="1" /> beneath the last hair in the lineup. That way when you open up the game's character creator the hair will be easy to find. Save the chargenmorph file and test in-game, if it doesn't work the game should automatically shut itself down without doing any damage to the game itself.
However, in order to use my character morphs you don't actually need to put everything into the chargenmorph file What you do need are all the files listed in the readme file included with each head. Add all the files into the following directory: My Documents > Bioware > Dragon Age > packages > core > override With all the files there the morph should work in your game, just be sure to add the name of the morph into your chargenmorph file.
thank you for responding. i already managed to figure the hair stuff out but thx but i am confused the elf one with the scar has 2 pictures? or is one for a human female?
One is an elven female and the other was a request from someone as to make that headmorph as a human You can use both or one of them, that's up to you ^^
I am having a problem with the Male Cousland preset.
In the character creation there looks like some kind of transparent silver plastic has been placed over the character's face and neck
I added the file to my override folder.
I also got the following mods as stated in the read me and the requirement listed in the description:
1. Bandit Emporium version 2 2. Hair Style Day Vol 2 3. KH Eye Creation for Toolset from KH creations 4. Accurate Warden Taatoo 5. el textures from Unique Face Textures for Companions DAO Edition
I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Could anyone help me solve this issue?
Hm, I'll take a look at him to see if I missed anything it's likely a missing skin texture...
Ah yes, so...I likely forgot to add this in the readme, but you also need SJC's skins (use the whiter vanilla teeth version), for his skin to show up properly, seeing as his is a blend between the two. ^^
hm, odd, I mean...according to my toolset the eye texture I used is the one from the mod you mentioned in your first post. :/
maybe an odd question, but which file did you download on that page? Could be you might've missed one (the one you need is titled KH_Toolset Files) Otherwise I wouldn't know what might be causing the problem. Regardless, keep me posted and I'll try to help however I can ^^
Do you know if it's possible to change your female Brosca's complexion in the CC? I love her facial structure, but I'm hoping to tone down her blush. However, even after removing her blush there's still a significant amount left. I thought maybe it was part of her complexion, so I changed that, but it almost looks like the original complexion is being layered with other complexions instead of being changed to a new complexion. I've never seen this happen before, so I'm not sure what to make of it.
It's part of her complexion, however if you have other complexions installed it should be able to change it in the CC. I started up my game, but it seems that the red on her cheeks is part of the lower layer complexion, which erases the scars. However, I can try to find a different complexion for her if you still wish to keep the scars.
And, I'm not sure if you're any good with the toolset yourself, but you can load the included mhr file inside the toolset and make some changes to her complexion yourself if you wish ^^
At any rate, I'll upload a version with less red cheeks in a bit
Edit: I've uploaded the file under misc. please have a look and tell me what you think ^^
Thank you, I love the new version! I'm still getting the hang of the toolset, so I really appreciate this. I have some other scarred complexions so I can use those to rough up her skin a bit.
it took me a while to understand the toolset as well, and all I've gotten so far is how to make head morphs and changes to equipment ah, and I suppose making small weapon mods...I hope to learn more at some point ^^
did you add the needed line for the morph into the chargenmorph file? the chargenmorph is normally found in your override folder, if you can't find one, I suggest looking at the post I made reacting to someone with the same problem on October 17th.
however, there's another method you could use change hero's head and voice using the above file you can make a regular morph for your character, then point toward the morph file using that program.
if either methods don't work let me know and I'll try to help however I can ^^?

is it possible for me to change my characters appearance (City Elf) to your Mahariel-morph or are the morphs bound to Race/Class?

helped a lot for comprehension.
However I couldn't find all files needed for the morph to work. So far I installed
Bandit Emporium
SJC's Skins
?Elven Hairstyles
?The eyelashes from Ellise and the Eyetextures I couldn't find. =/
I used the Chargencompiler mod. Now the game at least won't crash anymore when loading your morph in the Character Creation. I can work with that : )

As for the SJC skin mod, use the “whiter vanilla teeth version”, and delete the other one, that might be why it’s not loading ^^
And you’re quite welcome, I like helping people and I love it when people comment on the things I make (no matter how small those things are xD)
