DESCRIPTION

While playing as a pure Healer in this game I had a lot of fun, but one thing was stressful.
You do not know when a buff that you did to yourself or your party expires or when a party member takes a debuff. To check that you have to select the characters and look at the active effects and to do that you may have to pause the game to not lose the battle.

To be correct there's a VFX effect, but with the majority of spells it's very hard to notice and doesn't work while you're in combat and/or viewing the party potraits to keep your teammates alive.

This is a super-simple mod that notifies you when a Buff expires or when a Debuff starts on the player or a party member.
You'll get a floaty message on the head of the character that has just consumed the buff/got a debuff and a message on the potrait of him that will allow you to rebuff a character as soon as it ends and to dispel a buff as soon as it starts, that is very important on higher difficulties.

WHICH SPELLS

This mod alerts you on:

Buffs
  • Heroic Defense
  • Heroic Offense
  • Heroic Aura

Debuffs
  • Curse of Mortality
  • Weakness
  • Horror

The reason why there are only those Buffs is that they're the only ones that can be refreshed as soon as they end (or even before).
Spells like Mass Rejuvenation or Rejuvenation or even the Glyphs expires before the spell cooldown, so when you see them ready you already know the buff has ended from a while.

INSTALLATION

Simply install the VBD_UI.dazip with DAUpdater. (Dragon Age/bin_ship/DAUpdater.exe).

OTHER

Works in Awakenings

Source code is included (if you want to add spells - the process is very straightforward and requires very little coding knowledge - or if you want to translate).

Tested on Steam, GOG and retail (physical) game version.

This mod hasn't been tested for compatibility with other mods. The only mod that I've installed is FTG UI, so I don't know if it will surely work with any other mod.
Anyway it should work with any mod that does not modify the file spell_singletarget.ncs
