This is very pretty. Personally, I prefer to split the difference- I put the clan in the Brecilian Forest all in the shiny new vallaslin, pretty and clean, while Mahariel's clan gets the old-fashioned tats for DA2 continuity, and the elves in Awakening got some weirder ones that I found in my trove of mod files.
Hi! Thanks for the mod! Would you mind sharing which other possible texture and or facial mods you used in your example pictures? Im trying to get the vallaslin to look a certain way but they look either thiner or in a different position than your example pictures. Maybe soem other mods you are using effected it?
is there a version that doesn't replace the tattoos on the in game characters? just adds the new tattoos in the character creation without replacing the in-game characters tattoos
No, sorry. Tattoos are the only thing I know of that no one has been able to properly add in the character creator without altering the standard files. Since those files are used for all characters in the game and not just the warden, I can't change one without the other.
If you want though I could make you a custom file that only changes one tattoo you don't mind losing for the tattoo you want for your warden, without altering the others?
teeeeeechnically the old tats were featured in more games than the new ones, and for much longer. so it's more of an issue of "consistent art direction" and "these look way nicer, DAI's aesthetic is so much better omg" than lore.
Elven ancient lore wasn't fleshed out when they were developing DAO however. The serious revamp and detail was added when they were writing/developing DA:Inquisition. Which is why I personally favor DAI vallaslin over their DAO counterparts.
I suspect (though I have more hair mods than is sensible so I could be wrong) that it's from Look Hair, which can be found as an optional miscellaneous download on the Ferelden Models mod page.
Hello, please, could you maybe tell me where your fem hair mod is from? I remember seeing this mod on Nexus but was unable to find it since.... :( did it get deleted?
Right, so I know it's been a while but I have so many hair mods installed that I really didn't know where to start suggesting you look. However, if you're having trouble finding it then my best bet would be that it comes from Look Hair, which can be found as an optional miscellaneous download on the Ferelden Models mod page.
I seem to have fixed the blurriness in my game, by opening the files with photoshop and saving them again. I didn't change anything about the files, so it might be an export thing.
I used this plugin: http://fnordware.blogspot.com/2014/09/dds-plug-in-for-after-effects-and.html
Yeah, if you want it for tower elves copy the set with the tattoo you want (they're in groups of 4 so you can count it from the example pictures) and rename it uh_pct_h01_0t.dds or uh_pct_h02_0t.dds.
Ah! My bad, I forgot to name the updated files correctly. remove "DAI_" from the beginning of the file names if you don't want to have to download it again, so they start with "uh_". I'll upload a correctly named version now. Thanks for letting me know.

Really nice job with this, it looks great!

It's one of those rare cases that an aesthetic update is more lore-friendly than what you have in-game.
amazing work! Could you please tell me what character preset you are using for your elf? That would be very great.
Thank you.

edit: nvm...it works; forgot it doesnt work for tower elves.
Is this an override or a modders resource? I'm sorry for the silly question X3
