Haha, thanks! I've always been a melodramatic person- even in real life, and gaming brings it out even more! I actually forgot how dramatically I titled my photos lol

Just to satisfy my own curiosity: Marethari's eulogy -it's evident why there cannot be audio: it simply does not exist.
(Plus, the music delivers the right atmosphere in spades; it tugs at all the heart- and soulstrings to end the Dalish Origin as it should have from the get-go. And it lays the foundation for my Warden's personal development and motivation.)

But, are her mouth movements merely random, for the sole purpose of creating the illusion of her delivering her mourning speech; or are the lip syncing files connected to an actual -silent- funeral address?

Well, as you said, unfortunately, there is no existing audio for any type of eulogy. So, my technical thought process was to use the silent speaking animation (which is just random lip movements) to show the illusion of one.

And, in my own story, my Mahariel didn't really "hear" anything the Keeper was saying anyway as her own grief and guilt was swallowing her whole, extinguishing everything around her save her own inner voice. The music is another way to convey that.

Well, there is so much going on; Marethari's eulogy, the faces of your clan members, the grief stricken Warden; there are so many emotional arcs that coalesce into the tight-knit bonds of the clan and all of its members. The pain, the grief, the loss. The images of the vid -combined with the music- tell a story that cannot be put into words. Instead it is a tidal wave of seething emotins that almost feels like a physical assault as it comes crashing down; it is futile to try and fight or resist it -all you can do is go with it and ride out the turmoil until it subsides.
Having to leave the clan behind, feels like a form of exile; but my Warden accepts this "punishment" of her own free will, as she is wracked with guilt having lost Tamlen, without any kind of closure or resolution.
The subsequent attack at party camp upon reaching character level 16 is yet another nail in her coffin.
And the vision during the Sacred Ashes quest seals the inevitable fate of my grieving Warden: the Ultimate Sacrifice.

In short, it simply weaves the proper emotional fabric into the Dalish Origin and gives Tamlen the importance he was due. Bioware should be grateful. I know I am.

    Just.....wow...

Recently, I've come back to DAO (I was scared to try it with Win 10, but the 4 GB Patch works miracles), so I've spent the last few days playing around with different origins. Today, I came across your Dalish mods, and since I've always liked the Dalish origin story, I was intrigued, so I installed them all. I don't think I can adequately articulate just how amazing you've made the Dalish origin... Previously, I felt the human noble origin did a very good job of hitting you hard in the feels, but it has nothing on the suite of mods that you've created.
    Thank you very much.

Also, just in case anybody who reads this is wondering, I'm using all of these mods with Quinn's Fix Pack, and, so far, at least, they're working very well together. I'm only just at Ostagar, so have yet to see Sacred Ashes and a certain camp event, but the Dalish origin played without a hitch. I did check the various readmes and description pages prior to installing, and I was relatively confident they'd be fine, but… you never fully know with mods, so I was very pleased it went smoothly.

I play on Windows 11 and haven't had too many issues. Mostly just the memory issue with big texture mods and the toolset (majorly annoying Windows permission problems though argh) The 4GB patch works wonderfully and as long as you take the time to carefully set up a stable, curated mod list, everything usually runs pretty smoothly. Thanks for sharing your experience for anyone else having conflicts.

I really appreciate your comments! Thank you! <3 The noble origin was my first love in DAO. However, I was inspired to look more closely at the Dalish origin once I played DA2 and DAI. In the end, I fell in love with the Tamlen romance, so I decided to add the things I wanted for my own Warden. I'm very happy to hear it gave you all the feels :)

So I need help and I tried everything. I cannot get this cutscene to play for the life of me. It does the "come Dalen" thing and then it just kicks me back out into the camp and I have to start the dialogue all over again. I'm at a loss  and I don't know what is causing it to break. Help?

There must be something overwriting/conflicting with my mod. You need to search your override files for other copies of the dialogue files in my mod.

Just watched this for the first time and my heart absolutely broke. This is this extremely well made. It is emotional beyond belief which hit harder because it uses my favourite piece of music from Inquisition. Thank you for creating this. Truly a work of art.

Did you put the Lost Elf theme over this gem? Damn. Speaking of pulling at my heartstrings. It is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with the world. <3

I just finished the dalish origin with all of your mods enabled and excuse my language, but HOLY s#*!, you my friend, have some major talent. Companies need to start hiring modders of your talent for cutscene develpment, those cutscenes were beautiful and heart felt. It felt natural and organic. It legit made me more invested in this playthrough. Good work. Glad to see the magic never dies. Oh and it works beautifully with the Dalish Mage mod.

Wow, I'll just say thank you very awkwardly <3 for such wonderful praise for my Dalish mods. I don't feel I'm on any professional level worthy of working for a dev company, but I appreciate you saying so. It made me smile.

You know, when I first played DAO, I was not at all invested in this origin. I didn't feel the magic.  I was all about being a Cousland or a circle mage because their stories just grab you and have lasting effects on Ferelden (in my opinion). Then I played DA2 and saw how much Mahariel's clan plays a part in the main storyline. After that, I came back to play DAO again and thought, "You know, Clan Sabrae is much more important than you realize and that awful mirror carries into Hawke's story. This origin is far more interesting than it seems." So, that's why my first mod was for Tamlen. He was the one part of that beginning that was so heartbreaking.

I also really like telling stories.

I actually teared up. When I'd completed the Dalish origin before this mod, the ending seemed so rushed. I wondered why there wasn't a more fitting goodbye for this beloved member of the clan. Actually, I guess it's a goodbye to two beloved members of clan Sabrae... Tamlen and the Warden.

Now it feels right. So beautifully done! Thank you!
