Grenadier Rogue Class Mod by Ethan Blue - Please see V2.0 update information by Calandrax underneath this description.

I played a rogue in my first play through Dragon Age and found them to be slightly underpowered. In response to that issue, I created a mod to give my favorite class a bit of a boost in the form of a new specialization.

NOTE – This is overpowered. It’s likely that you’ll find the game too easy if you’re playing on normal and using these skills. This mod is probably best used for those playing on hard, trying to solo the game as much as possible or simply don’t care that it’s easy and just want to have fun trying it out.

This mod adds a new specialization to the rogue class called grenadier that specializes in projectile weapons. The grenades act similar to the thrown items in the game such as the acid flask, but have a few key differences:

1. They DO NOT require crafting of any kind and have unlimited usage

2. With the exception of the Acid Grenade, they have different effects than the in-game thrown items.

The new skills are as follows:

1. Acid Grenade
Andraste’s grace has granted the rogue a magical ability to control grenades of various types. Unlike traditional flask based weapons, these grenades materialize simply by the rogue willing it to happen.

The Acid Grenade is a vial of deadly poison that can be thrown at multiple enemies to deal nature damage.

2. Vampiric Grenade
Andraste’s army faced a massive shortage of resources during their many struggles; including a lack of medical supplies. In response to this shortage, the maker himself blessed her warriors with a magical grenade that could suck the soul power from enemies and transfer it back to themselves.

The Vampiric Grenade is a chalice that holds magical energies that enable the rogue to hit single targets in an effort to drain their opponent’s energy.

3. IED (Internal Explosive Device) Grenade
War isn’t pretty and neither is the Internal Explosive Device Grenade. The IED Grenade was developed by Andraste’s alchemists in order to combat her enemies’ greater firepower.

The IED Grenade is a small projectile that creates a diversionary explosion on impact. While the enemy is too busy being relieved to still be in one piece, a small shrapnel device penetrates their skin without them even knowing. Once inside, the opponent takes damage over time for a short period of time. If the opponent dies before their body has rid itself of the temporary affliction, they explode; possibly causing damage to those around them.

4. SubZero Grenade
One advantage that Andraste’s army had against their opponents is that they were a hardy people capable of withstanding sub zero temperatures. In order to exploit this advantage, (not unlike the Packers do at the Frozen Tundra) Andraste’s mages figured out how to store a Cone of Cold spell inside a grenade that could be thrown by her army’s grenadiers.

The SubZero Grenade is a flask that can be tossed at opponents to not only cause them damage, but also slow their movement speed or possibly even freeze them solid!

Installation

1. Unzip Grenadier_Class.zip to a directory of your choosing
2. Open your Dragon Age directory for example C:\Program Files\Dragon Age
3. Open the bin_ship program and run daupdater.exe
4. Click “Select DAZIPS”
5. Browse to where you unzipped Grenadier_Class.zip and select the file Grenadier_Class.dazip
6. Click “Install Selected”

Uninstallation
1. Delete the gren_class folder in the My Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age\ AddIns folder

***This mod is currently not compatible with reynenstarfyre's Cleric Class mod. If you have his mod installed and would like to try this one, I believe you will only be able to have one of them active at a time

This mod was tested on version 1.01 of Dragon Age. I have no idea if it will work with version 1.0 or version 1.02. This mod uses talk tables that I believe are not compatible with any version of the game other than the US version, but if you try it for EU version, let me know if it's successful.***

V2.0 update by Calandrax -
Added a cooldown for balancing purposes. Adjusted the scripts themselves because originally tweaking the gda cooldown file wasn't working properly, but I believe it was because the base script is from a single use item as oppose to a base ability script. Anyways I wrote some lines in the scripts themselves and they seem to be working properly on my end, and are even adjustable if you want to edit the cooldown column in abi_base_grenadier_class.gda.

Fixed Vampire grenade as the drain script wasn't included and didn't do anything, but drain the users stamina. I also adjusted the damage for Vampire, IED, and SubZero Grenade to scale based off cunning and not spell power. As I thought that would be more convenient being rogue abilities.
