Revamped Head Morphs

1.  D e s c r i p t i o n

Installing this will modify the faces of certain NPC's and party members. Some faces are barely any different (I mostly just fixed the overall face structure), while others have been completely redesigned. My primary focus was on the Dwarves, since they've mostly been neglected by other modders. See screenshots to spot the differences (new faces are always on the right or on top, and vanilla faces are always on the left or at the bottom). Please note that only characters you can have a conversation with are shown on screenshots. The mod also adds several new generic dwarven and human morphs. These are almost never seen up close, but I thought I should create some anyway, as some of them were frankly quite atrocious.

  • Pineappletree's Vibrant Colors: This is required for most morphs.
  • Dragon Age Redesigned: Dracomies True Textures and HD eyes Dracomies True Textures and HD eyes(just drag the "DAR for Dragon Age Toolset" folder or the ERF files from it into your override) are needed for the majority of morphs.
  • Tucked Hair: needed for a number of female morphs.
  • Additional Hairs for DA: same as above.
  • LOTC Hairstyle Collection: same as above.
  • More Hairstyles: required only for certain female morphs (see screenshots).
  • Beautiful People Hair REN: Same as above. If you get the "white hair problem", delete "LOD23" folders that come with the mod.
  • DrDJs Bandit Emporium: scars used on a number of (mostly dwarven) morphs.
  • SP-Scars: same as above. Download the main file and the update.
  • Raptures Witcher : The Witcher Aesthetics pack is required for two or three morphs (actually only the hairstyles are needed).
  • Schwarzalbenheim: Contains new beards and hairstyles for Dwarven males; these are needed for several male Dwarven morphs. You don't have to install the earrings, since I didn't use any.

You can use CharGenMorph Complier to combine chargenmorphcfg.xml. This is only required if you want to use the assets described above in the in-game character generator. This mod should still function properly even if you don't update it.

  • LOTC's Default Eye Texture: much better default eye texture.
  • Eyebrow Presets: More realistic and better looking eyebrow textures. My morphs were made using these (it's quite possible that some of the faces will not look right if you don't have this mod), so this is highly recommended.
  • Isabela variation: A younger version of DA2's Isabela.

Drop the folder into your "...My Documents\Dragon Age\packages\core\override" folder. If you have Improved Atmosphere installed, you may want to drop it into IA's core folder instead for easier management. But please make sure you don't rename the folder, so that it gets placed above IA's core folders. It must be the last folder visible (sorted by name).

Note: Inside the "...\Revamped Head Morphs\NPC\Special\" folder are morphs which require some additional attention. Look for the ReadMe files dedicated to those morphs before using them.

Obviously, the mod is not compatible with any other that changes the same files. However, since each .mor or .mop file works fine by itself, you can choose which heads you want to use and which you don't. Just check the screenshots and decide--it's that easy.

Also, since I'm also using most of the Dragon Age Redesigned mod
, most of the morphs altered by this mod have not been touched in DAR.

Source files (.mrh) are also available (separate download) for those who enjoy experimenting with the toolset or do not wish to use certain required mods.
