I made these items (changed existing items' stats, rather) specifically for Velanna in my game. To me, her bond with nature is somewhat outwheighed by her anger - so I wanted her to be able to run into the middle of battle and remain unhurt because of her strength, and, well, armour.
While there are armour sets in Awakening (and Origins) that work well enough for Arcane Warriors, I wanted one that takes into account the whole nature magic thing, which the armour pieces and the weapons do.
The Dalish aspect comes into play because obviously only the Dalish should be even capable of crafting items for Arcane Warriors; it's their heritage, after all.
It's rather nice that the elves in the Brecilian Forest crafted these items after the Warden told them about what s/he found in that old ruin, and it's even nicer that they sent it to Vigil's Keep. It's not entirely clear why they chose to name metal things after trees, but I guess it's more symbolic than anything else. I don't know how Velanna feels about wearing another clan's insignia, but I don't think she cares much as long as she gets to deal heavy damage.

These items will only be added to an imported save in which the Warden gained at least some favour with the Dalish. There won't be any armour for an Orlesian Warden, simply because the Dalish don't know them and so have no reason to send anything. (They don't have that much reason to anyway.)
Obviously, a Warden who sided with the werewolves won't receive any of these items.
For simplicity's sake the "Arcane Warrior" specialisation does not have to have been unlocked in the current playthrough, although it would make more sense from a role playing point.
