About this mod

Prevents the bodies of fallen foes to turn into a bunch of bones after a few seconds.

UPDATE 6: Added a final fix for the Death Syphon spell, and added support for the Golems of Amgarrak DLC. I also updated the Combat Tweaks compatibility file, which should now work with the very latest version of CT.

UPDATE 5: The mod's now compatible with Awakening. Also replaced vanilla bone models with invisible placeables, which means there won't be any bones waiting for you should you decide to temporarily delete the APR...GDA's to clear the modules of old bodies. Additionally, the spell called "Death Syphon" is no longer broken.

UPDATE 4: Removed two conflicting files that caused bugs in Redcliffe and probably elsewhere.

UPDATE 3: Fixes the bugs in Redcliffe night and the final battle sequences in Denerim. The quests should update properly now. The only problem with this fix is that a few less enemies will spawn (the one hit kill ones) in the module in which your party members must defend the city gates of Denerim.

UPDATE 2: Death Magic and Devour were broken in the previous version. Download the latest file to fix this. Note that when you use any of the aforementioned spells/talents, the corpses will turn into bones (or disappear completely if you also have "No Bones" installed). This behavior could be edited out, but I actually like it this way. You are supposed to *devour* the corpses after all.

UPDATE 1: Some skeletons (in Redcliffe and at Warden's Keep) would still fade away after dying (again). This update resolves this.

This mod will prevent the bodies of your victims from fading away. Now you can loot the Ogre without having to fear that its body will disappear in front of your eyes (how annoying that was).

There are two sub-folders inside this folder whose names are pretty self-explanatory:

- File inside the "Combat Tweaks Compatibility" makes the mod compatible with Combat Tweaks. if you don't have the said mod installed, delete this folder. Otherwise, delete "talent_devour.ncs" from the root folder.

- Files in the "No Bones" folder will overwrite vanilla bone models with invisible placeables, which basically means fresh bodies won't turn into bones anymore, but will instead disappear completely. I made this for a very specific reason (read the "Note" part below, and you'll figure it out), but there's nothing stopping you from using this as an independent mod. Be warned, thought, that doing so will make looting decayed corpses harder (they can still be looted, though), since they're invisible.

Note: This mod is not perfect; the bodies never disappear. This is generally not a problem, since you visit the majority of modules in which combat takes place only once. The problem are those that you do revisit (Orzammar, Redcliffe Castle), and I bet you can guess why. To make things perfect, I would have to find a way to remove the bodies after a while, but so far I had little luck.

So, until I find a solution to this problem, you can work around the issue by temporarily deleting or moving APR_...GDA's to a different folder, loading up the module in which there are bodies you want gone, let them disappear, save the game, and move the files back (don't worry; the bodies won't come back). It's not a perfect solution, but it's a solution nonetheless.

Installation: Just copy the entire folder into your "...\My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override" folder.
