The download is a RAR file; you need to unpack / extract it first, using a tool like WinZip, WinRAR, or 7-zip (7-zip is freeware btw). If you decide to install 7-zip, mkae sure you download the correct version, either 32-bit or 64-bit, depending on your operating system. Once installed, you can right-click on the downloaded file of this nexus page and choose to extract. That will give you access to the DAZIP file.
Other comments regarding this beautiful mod: - I noted I had an issue with the recruit armor (aka the bikini): the boots were not showing the diffuse texture map, resulting in a flat grey color (the default color of a naked mesh). So, I dug into the .erf files of the textures, finding: 1) The are two directories for the textures in AddIns\XT_Phoenix_Armory\core\textures: "medium" and "high", with the same files in the two identical .erf archives. Is this correct? 2) Some of the diffuse maps (9 files) are compressed in DXT5, but they just need DXT1 (I use DXT1c with Ordenador) since they do not need the alpha channel, reducing space and saving VRAM. If you plan to run Ordenador on them as I did, beware of keeping the original uncompressed tint maps (and not the compressed ones generated).
For anyone who missed the recruit armor in Ostagar (like me). Unfortunately, there is no script in the mod to get this armor in the inventory. So, after some searching, this is the solution I found (if you do not have the toolset installed to compile your own script): 1) Search for ADD ANY ITEM VISUAL DELUXE , download it, and place it in your override folder. 2) Follow the instructions to compile its database of items (Bioware + customs) according to your installed mods. 3) Run the game and load your savegame. 4) Open the console and type: "runscript getx" to open a container with all your custom items. 5) Search in the container for the phoenix-recruit parts (armor, gloves, and boots) and grab them. That's it. Have fun!
I'm asking you because you've posted most recently lol... I've been trying to find mods I like and I haven't modded DAO before so this is all new and confusing <_< (only modded DAI so far), but the links to get the winter forge and the universal dye kit aren't working or don't go anywhere anymore :( Is there a way to get these files still? Also any tips for modding this game with DAO manager would be greatly appreciated :P
Hello, I really like your armor mod, but i am also curious as to how you made your elf character look not so scrawny? I assume yours is not the default body and if so, what body mod did you use?
When armor/clothing are equipped, there's no separate 'body' model; the armor and body are the same thing. In other words, it's the armor mod that is giving the character the body shape you see.
So I've installed this mod, I'm currently at king's camp in Ostagar, and even though the description states: it's not there... anyone else had this problem, too?
EDIT: found it. When talking to the Quartermaster, you have to ask him what kind of things he sells, and then he'll say he also sells some "other goods". That's when you ask him to show them to you that you can buy the stuff!
EDIT: why the heck is it so expensive? how am I supposed to get so much money at the very start of the game? :") cause I've found out you can only buy it during the day, which means you have until you enter the Wilds to buy it... lmao
You can return to the King's Camp map from the Wilds at any time, and as long as the quest objectives (darkspawn blood + treaties) have not been accomplished, the normal 'daytime' camp will still be in effect and the merchant stock won't refresh.
Duncan even has some new dialogue if you do return and talk to him before finishing his quests.
