About this mod

Replaces the default tints for arms and armors with better looking ones (or at the very least, less offensive to look at...)

Requirements
Permissions and credits
There are two versions of the mod:
The main version attempts to maintain the differences between the various materials so that you may be able to tell at a glance what a piece of equipment is made of (it's color-coded for your convenience).
The alternative version does exactly the opposite and makes all metals, leathers and woods look the same. This is useful if you want to wear mismatched armor parts and not look like a clown, for example, or if you find it disturbing to see random guards wearing dragonbone armor.

This mod won't change the appearance of unique equipment such as the warden commander set, armor of the sentinel, etc...

I didn't feel the need to fix what's not broken, so if I already likd something (steel, silverite...) I didn't change it much if at all.

Detail of the changes :

T1
Iron: I toyed around with this one but ended up with something that looks almost exactly as Bioware's, because it needed to be easy to tell it apart from the new gray iron.
Rough Hide: Was very bright, while the secondary colour was very dark. I wanted something that looked more dull and crappy for a bottom tier material.
Elm: No change to the colour of the wood. the metallic and leathery parts are based on my iron and rouh hide, with adjustments.
T2
Gray Iron: Ironically, Bioware's version of it is less gray than regular iron, I wanted it to look like a dull, ordinary metal, but not as crude-looking as t1 iron.
Cured Hide: Much like gray iron, I wanted a basic, dull look for this one, it's essentially an unsaturated, darker version of the rough hide. The metallic parts are based on the grey iron, so it's brighter.
Ash wood: Colour of the wood is inspired by pictures of actual ash wood.
T3
Steel: My reference, didn't touch it at all.
Leather: The original had a satisfying primary color, but the secondary was a weird-looking green. Overall I wanted to achieve that good-looking but nothing special feel that steel does well for the metal.
Yew wood: also inspired by real yew wood.
T4
Veridium: I toyed around with this one but ended up reverting most of my changes, it's darker colour contrasts well with the reste of the metals, the green tint is not disturbingly obvious, I just made the yellow-ish trim a little bit brighter, for style.
Hardened Leather: The original was green, I liked the idea of keeping the tiers color-coded when possible so I kept the green but made it darker and less saturated so that it doesn't look too unnatural. Metallic parts are based on the secondary colour of veridium since the primary was too dark
Whitewood: Well the name says it all so I didn't want to change it too much.
T5
Red Steel: Okay, if gray iron wasn't really gray, Bioware's red steel is unabiguously red... I wanted to put more emphasis on steel and less on red with this one. In terms of brightness it's a middle ground between regular steel and silverite.
Reinforced leather: Much like for hardened, this one ends up looking red-ish to fit with red steel, but nothing too extravagant.
Ironbark: Varathorn describes it as blue-green as I recall, so that was my guideline here.
T6
Silverite: I made the trim/detail a little more yellowish to add contrast to it, but not much. Overall practically unchanged.
Inscribed leather: The only high ter leather for which an obvious colour wasn't already decided, so it ends up looking black. In keeping with the colour them of T6, the secondary is dark blu-ish.
Sylvanwood: I honestly have no idea what 'sylvanwood' is supposed to look like so I left it the same.
T7
Dragonbone: Well, THE major change of the pack. I think I heard of black dragon bones for the first time when reading ASOIAF, and I liked the idea. Initially, the trimming was red and gold, so it would look like fire when the light danced on it, bu it ended up looking mostly orange and not that good, so I went with just golden-ish, and I think it looks pretty good, yet simple.
Drakeskin: Drakes have blue/green skin in-game, so that was my reference, of course it has not look too obvious or it would end up worse than the original, so I made it quite dark, fitting for a rogue.
Dragonthorn: again I tried various things here but the original was good. The addition of the golden trim from dragonbone makes it look more special.
T8
White Steel: In vanilla awakening, htis is just the templar armor (gloves, actually) tint, which looks very dull. Attempting to make this even brighter than silverite resulted in you walking around in blinding-mirror-armor, so I tried to make it less "bright" but with a pure white colour, and I kept the golden trimming from the dragonbone. It ends up looking quite similar to the Kal'Hirohl set, which uses its own texture. Also black cloth because that's one I hadn't used yet and it constrasts heavily with the white metal.
Dragonwing: In vanilla awkening this is just a repeat of standarad leather. So I went with what dragon wings look like in-game as a basis and pretty much followed the same steps as for drakeskin.
Vehnadahl: Bioware reuses their yew wood here. I went for a dark greenish wood to contrast heavily with the white steel parts of the shield/bow
T9
Volcanic aurum: Much like silverite, this one was essentially already very good looking, overall I made it a little brighter (especially the trimming), but nothing drastic.
High Dragon Hide: apparently the texture used for this one is only available to owners of Warden's keep. If you don't have it it looks like on my screenshot : gray. I used the colour of the actual high dragon as a reference but kept it quite dark and not too shiny, as suitable for a high-level rogue armor. The metallic parts are colored after the aurum but less bright.
Ancestral Heartwood: Kinda looks like gold too, but it's actually based on pictures of real heartwood. Of course it also had to look 'special', so it ended up like this.
