Description

A challenging master level with visual twists!

This level is balanced to be played without the hammer and includes some DLC demons. Difficulty increases and peaks in the last arena and the slayer gate. The main goal was to make interesting and challenging arenas revolving around heavy/super heavy demons. I had some fun modifying some cutscenes as well so I wouldn't recommend to skip them.

I also don't recommend going for a blind UN but I know there are crazy good players out there who can do it!

There shouldn't be performance drops due to the visual changes but if you experience any, feel free to let me know and I can publish another version with the regular Mars Core sky. Also some pinkys hitboxes are weird, they shouldn't be a danger but if anyone has an idea how to fix it, I'd be more than happy to incorporate it to the level.

Spoilers and Fun Facts

Spoiler:
Show

  • The first outdoor arena is a reference to Doom II map 20: Gotcha
  • T-posing archvile name is Alberto
  • Slayer Gate opens after you pick up the codex in front of the door
  • The actual slayer gate key is in fact a Quad Damage
  • Alberto is here to give you the BFG in the first cutscene but since the Slayer doesn't take it, he comes back to welcome him at the BFG 10k #lore
  • Daisy went to the UAC facility gym
  • Probably easy to notice but the big tyrant spawns new demons a 75-50-25% of his health: don't focus him or it might get crowded!

Thanks

To my The Den buddies who tested the level and gave their input: potdechoucroute, payoyo, seabazt, kingostone, lickers, grizius, multi and kirochi. You can join the server here .
To potdechoucroute for providing a baseline of the last arena.
Special thanks to Payoyo for the help on the music entites, awesome skybox and the time spent going through debugging and helping me improve the level.
