Congratulations, it is a very good idea, but as other people said, there should be another way to get armor, like in glory kill drops. If not, there is no sense to remove the stupid flamethrower.
Some people (me) liked Doom 2016 but not Doom Eternal because of the gameplay changes. I've been wanting to get into and finish Eternal but I haaaaaaate the changes and additions.
I have searched for this kind of mod because the game frustrates me a lot with its forced mechanics and "key-madness". With your mod the game is still hard but a lot more fun to play and not such frustrating. Good thing you removed the flame-thrower and finally add a decent assault-rifle and melee damage. Thanks!
Suggestions:
1) Removing the Dash is stupid because in this way you cannot do the jump-and-run stuff in levels and stuck. 2) I think the replacement for the full-auto-mod prevents me from doing the mastery challenge for it. If I kill Pinkys with that, it does not count it. Please correct this. 3) The HAR tactical scope still shows you the one bullet of the former sniper mode. Should be changed to suit the new mod. 4) You could also remove the sound of trying to activate and key binding option for the flame-thrower. It is more a question of aesthetics.

I tried doing the work myself but it got me nowhere.
Other then that, made the game loads better for me!
