Looks like a latest version of Doom Eternal doesn't work with reshade right out of the box. This post will help - https://reshade.me/forum/troubleshooting/7043-reshade-no-longer-working-in-doom-eternal
It doesn`t work on my Doom Eternal on Steam. it tells there's an unsupported vulkan layer to the game, do you want to disable it? I press no but the game don`t launch with reshade. What can I do?
So i loaded up my game with reshade installed, i got the overlay, i put all the files from main folder into the reshade folder, all loaded up fine, but when i went to enable the effects it just told me its on default preset and carmacks reshade wasnt even showing up. Anyone have any ideas?
Are you sponsored by AJ for realz or just a fan (speaking of, how there no more AJ parodies based on DOOM Eternal)? Anyways, I installed mod, didn't really notice much difference, but noticed perfomance issues, had to delete, but still thank you for the work.
I installed the same mod on Doom 2016 - it is much easier to install there and, most importantly, the mod does not affect performance in any way, although the picture has become noticeably better. In the case of Doom Eternal, the installation is more difficult, the picture changes, but most importantly, the performance decreases by about 20-30 fps, which is very offensive, which is why I abandoned this mod :( sorry for bad English
I feel like it is really poor form to put Carmack's name in the title. At best, it does nothing to make your mod better, and at worst it serves as clickbait and can confuse a novice user.
To each their own I suppose.
I am glad that the mod looks great, but it just seems wrong to use someone's name like this.
Do you think a novice would even know who Carmack is? Just think about it. Only true Doom gamers would get this joke and not take it as seriously as you have, claiming that I'm confusing people somehow. The fact that I use Carmack's name (jokingly) is my way of giving tribute to a legend.
For the novices: John Carmack co-founded the video game company id Software and was the lead programmer of its games Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Quake and their sequels. He resigned from the company in 2013.
"It comes off like you're trading on someone else's name to sell your own thing -- it's tacky, and possibly misleading to a noob"
"It's just a joke, bro! And I'm one of those obnoxious people that think 'it's a joke' is a perfect defense for everything. Now I'll gaslight you for suggesting anyone might not get my 'joke'"
Why do you make up imaginary quotes? You're just gaslighting yourself, and being intentionally disrespectful at the same time. You obviously don't get the joke and should move on to something else that actually matters.

To whom it may concern,
Here's a snip from my description: "I managed to snag this ReShade from his thumb drive when he wasn't looking."
Is there one person who honestly believes that? Don't be shy, speak up.
I know it's a year later, but? Just...wow! All fans of old DOOM know, respect and love John Carmack. It's just a tribute...and the uploader having "stole this from his thumb drive" is an obvious joke. I knew what it meant the moment I read the title of the mod..."A Doom 3 reshade!" Means, darker, creepier, colder and distinctly shadowed/ contrasted. Many of us wish Carmack was back with ID and this is how we have him spiritually live on in the Doom franchise. For some reason, Doom has gone high fantasy, and tends to be a lot more fantastically colored than before. I wish they would have just included something like this in the Renderer options, the closest you get is "Gritty..." which is not cold enough.
Not to mention, this was uploaded on APRIL FOOLS DAY. People need to relax and worry about things that actually matter in life. I wish my life was so sweet I could waste energy getting upset over stuff like this...
I knew it was a joke because Carmack would just add these effects into the game himself since he wrote most of it in the first place... Or he would have somehow made reshade give VR support to vulkan titles... Somehow.
