About this mod
It so happened that I rejected modern graphics for game-play. Jokes aside, I now own only a 9600x CPU. This means I have the equivalent of a GTX 750Ti, kind of. This mod simply changes cvars. The optional installation, with fsr, is not recommended if not for brainrot content.

Troubleshooting
- Download the Potatoer.zip file.
- Extract the file into Steam/steamapps/common/DOOMEternal/base.
- Open candidate.cfg using your favourite text editor and appending the following text at line 13: exec potato.cfg
- Open potato.cfg and comment all the options you don't want to change.
- Play the game!
Optional Brainrot Installation
- Download the POTATO_ETERNAL.zip file.
- Extract the content and copy paste the files in "DE_OPTISCALER" to Steam/steamapps/common/DOOMEternal/doomSandBox.
- Go back to POTATO_ETERNAL, copy potato.cfg and paste it in your Steam/steamapps/common/DOOMEternal/base
- Open your daily text editor and appending the following text at line 13 of candidate.cfg: exec potato.cfg
- Optional: open potato.cfg and edit some of the parameters to your liking!
- Linux Only: Download Proton GE using protonup or proton plus. Once it is installed restart steam, change the default proton version to Proton GE. After this, right click on Doom Eternal from your library list, left click on Properties and paste the following line LD_PRELOAD="" WINEDLLOVERRIDES='winhttp,winmm,nvapi64'='n,b' %command% +com_skipIntroVideo 1. You should be well set!
Now you can play Potato Eternal!
Troubleshooting
- In case appears grayed out, unlike to happen, download protontricks, open it either from any drun launcher (may that be Gnome search or KDE search) or terminal ( type protontricks 782330 regedit). Once you are inside the wine virtual environment for registry keys, go to file and import the registry key from the POTATO_ETERNAL folder.
