Improves the Shotgun, Plasma Rifle, and Chaingun for single player campaign, multiplayer, and Snap Map.

These are the weapon improvements from my Balanced WAD weapons module, without any of the nerfs 

Combat Shotgun :


  • Min Damage : Unchanged 22
  • Max Damage : 26 -> 32
  • Point Blank Damage : 30 - > 36
  • Damage fall off ranges greatly increased to match super shotgun

*Damage is per pellet. 

Chaingun :

  • Mobile Turret Damage : 22 -> 19 
  • Gatling Master Damage : 24 -> 22
  • Spin-Up Time : 1350 -> 650
  • Mastered Spin-Up Time : 810 -> 200
  • Default Mode Spread : 4.5 -> 1.5 (mobile turret is 2.5 for reference, reticle adjusted)
  • Sensitivity reduction during firing, using gatling rotor and deploying mobile turret all eliminated.

Plasma Rifle :

  • Base Damage : 25 -> 40
  • Sensitivity reduction during firing eliminated.

* Mobile Turret and Gatling Master are not applicable to Snap Map as no such items exist. Sensitivity changes for both chaingun and plasma rifle also do not apply to Snap Map / MP as the sensitivity is not reduced to start for those modes.

Installation : 

  • For Campaign version install as normal using Doom Mod Loader.
  • For Snap Map / Multiplayer version, install with -snap argument applied to Doom Mod Loader. This can be achieved by opening cmd prompt or power shell in the game folder (where Doom.exe and Doom Mod Loader are found) and typing in the following : ".\DOOMModLoader.exe -snap" (without quotes). Alternatively a batch file can be made to do the same. Uninstalling requires the same process : remove the mod from the mods folder, then run Doom Mod Loader again with the snap argument applied again.
