I am getting tired of apologizing for taking my sweet time with this project, but hey... I am just a human after all.

Anyway, I don't come to you with a new version of this mod, well... not entirely (more on that later). I wanted to say that there will be no more updates to this project, aside from fixing some minor bugs. That doesn't mean I am giving up, don't worry. 

I am breaking the silence on what I was working on lately. Ladies and gentelmen, I would like to announce the DDLC: Time to be an epic hero REMAKE.

Now that I have your attention (hopefully), let's get into some neat details.

First and foremost, it will have it's own page here on Nexus, and maybe later a dedicated website (but for now that's a big maybe). For those of you troubled by low download speed here on Nexus I will also release the remake on MEGA (I am open for more suggestions on where to upload the mod to make it easier to download).

I listened to feedback from both players who loved this mod and from those who hated it. Here is a list of most (non spoiler) things changing in the remake:
-changing most of the vanilla ddlc script (including poem sharing scenes)
-changing the UI (mostly textboxes and choice boxes)
-adding new features (for example a phone, but only for story purposes)
-remaking all battles to not only be animated (most of them at least) but also more or less standardized (but with a unique twist for each)
-making the act 2 less repetitive
-overhauling the observer to be much more fleshed out villain (I am sure that's not a spoiler anymore, right?)
-providing official support for deadpool's route, with way more than just a special ending and a name easter egg (that shouldn't be a spoiler either, I hope)
-speaking of name easter eggs, there will be less of them but a couple will actually change the mc's model in fights and maybe more(?)
-adding difficulty levels and possibly a new game plus
-streaming mode with only copyright free music
-and of course, how could I forget... making Scott even more of a jerk

I should probably also mention the grammar... I've done all I could to make it actually decent, but I guess only time will tell. There should also be way less cringe dialogue and less denser than a black hole mc.

I plan to release the act 1 remake close to the end of the year, maybe earlier, maybe a bit later, but that's a rough estimate here. So this mod should bring some closure to the story and ending to DDLC. It's a pretty long, interactive and detailed mod that I've been doing mostly alone.

So the full release will feature:

• new route for each girl
• less meaningless choices
• more choices directly and indirectly impacting the story.
• new club member
• a lot of unique fighting minigames RPG Maker's style.
• new detective minigame
• new bad guys
• new poem for Monika
• recolored HUD that suits the atmoshere a little bit better with a few extra details
• a bunch of funny easter-eggs including a few name easter-eggs
• multiple endings
• many custom main menu backgrounds to choose from (check extras folder)
• new menu music
• excitement and fun lasting for 11+ hours (pretty long for a DDLC mod, isn't it?)
• gallery, where you can see every ending,
  

Installation:

To install this mod you only need to unzip the files and throw them into game folder in your DDLC directory and allow files to overwrite. Don't forget to make a backups of your original files. More instructions in the readme file.
Warning:
Don't use Steam version of Doki Doki Literature Club cause it's been causing issues with mods or I just didn't optimize my mod for Steam.

Instructions on how to change menu BG are located in the extras folder.

Unistallation:
To unistall my mod you need to delete all files in the game folder directory and move in your original ones. You made backups right?

Yes, should be working well, but it's no longer recommended since the launcher/manager were discontinued.
