About this mod

Adds new, balanced crafting recipes and fixes some of the existing ones. The way game should have been from the start. Craft more arrow types, dyes, break down armor into materials, upgrade gloves and boots. Minor rebalances, scales have actual purpose now.

Balanced Crafting Lite for Enhanced Edition

This mod aims to fix some problems with the default crafting system, like missing recipes, lack of common sense etc. It's been driving me nuts so I decided to look for a mod. Unfortunately there is currently only 1 mod compatible with the Enhanced Edition and it didn't meet my expectations so I decided to create my own and also borrowed some recipes from another mod that no longer works. These changes are meant to be lore friendly and as balanced as possible. My goal was to make crafting the way you'd expect it to be from the start.

You can now tear clothing and armor into materials it's made of, craft dyes, make arrows that were previously missing, make shields and use scale scraps for much more than before, they actually have significant role now.

Dyes are semi-easy to obtain. You need glass jars and different types of mushrooms to craft them. Jars are not very common in general - afterall you re not supposed to have a lot of exotic material such as dyes. However as you proggress through the game and level crafting you will be able to obtain them by smelting useless pieces of glass found in game world. Now there is a lot more incentive to invest in blacksmithing and crafting also.


Installation :
First make backup of your entire profile and save. My documents/Larian Studios  in case something goes wrong. Mod works with saved games

Drop the Public folder in the game Data directory, usually steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition\Data . Merge when asked, it should work with any other mod that doesn't affect crafting.

!!! you can use the mod in multiplayer if the other person also has it installed !!!

New Recipes :


Arrows :
Water Arrow = Water Bottle + Arrow Shaft
Smokescreen Arrowhead = Fire Arrowhead + Water Bottle
Fire Arrowhead = Arrowhead + Scraps
Freezing Arrowhead = Knife + Magic Tooth ( knife not dagger!)
Regular Arrowhead ( for other arrows ) = Scale Scraps + Hammer

Dyes :
A mushroom + Jar ( or shadow essence + jar for black dye )
All Dyes require a Jar ( not vial or bottle!) you can now craft one from junk glass items that aren't default empty bottles - crafting 5 required at furnace. For example, vials, default plates, other useless bottles

Variants :
Yellow, Black, Blue, Green, Purple, White, Red


Shield :
Barrel + rope = Wooden shield 


Quality of Life Recipes :

Cloth armor + dagger/knife  =  cloth scraps
Robe + dagger/knife = cloth scraps
Garment + dagger/knife = cloth scraps
Leather armor + dagger/knife = leather scraps
Metal Armor + Hammer = metal scraps
Wood Scraps + barrel or portable source of water + wood mush + empty bottle/cup etc.                      ( vessels are no longer lost upon crafting )
Strong sinew + dagger/knife = 2 sinews
Large Antlers + axe = 2 small antlers


Additional Recipes and changes :
Metal Scraps + ring kit = Scale Scraps ( doesn't waste the kit, requires crafting 5 )
Scale Scraps + Furnace = Metal scraps ( Blacksmith 5 ) 
Leather Armor now uses only scale scraps to upgrade ( metal scraps won't work )
You can now upgrade all types of gloves and boots with Scale Scraps ( requires crafting 4, adds armor )


Fixes :

Magic Big Chicken and Magic Sharp Claw foot now properly function as they're supposed to
Lucky Rabbit Paw Belt and Super Lucky Rabbit Paw Belt now have proper stats

Some of the recipes were taken from Crafting Tweaks-Fixes by Offkorn, this mod is for the base version and is outdated

More uses for higher blacksmithing and crafting
Upgrade helmets and jewelery
More options of customising armor ( like different type of material applied to armor will increase movement, defense, stats etc. )
