About this mod

This mod alters the game so physical damage also removes magic armor and vice versa.

Permissions and credits
Are you still unsatisfied with making hybrid builds using this mod because DOS2's attribute system discourages stat spread? Check out Divine Rebuild
, a mod that merges damage stats to allow greater freedom of playstyle. Both of these mods were built with each other in mind and work very well together!

Are you sick of the armour system? Do you wish the cool kids on the DOS2 Discord didn't have a case when they said hybrid parties are unviable? Do you want to play a spellblade, but are too afraid to mix damage types?

Look no further! Dual Armor Damage (DAD for short) copies all physical damage to magic armour and vice versa, meaning attacks of all kinds damage both armour types without directly stripping NPCs of their individually high magic and physical armour values.

Furthermore, if you find everyone's armour to be going down too fast now, I recommend the 30% armour bloat mod.

Special thanks to Zerd for teaching me how to use the Divinity Engine much more effectively and helping me to make this.

Mod features:
  • On all characters, receiving Fire, Air, Earth, Poison or Fire damage inflicts equal physical armor reduction.
  • All physical damage received by a character reduces their magic armor by the same amount.
  • Corrosive damage skills also now deal magic damage and vice versa.

Known issues:
  • Chloroform only works if the foe has no physical armour when struck by the skill. This is due to corrosive damage being dealt after magic damage, which breaks Sleeping status. I have no clue how to fix this yet, but once I figure something out, I'll update this mod. Chloroform is a fairly essential skill.
  • Very rarely, magic armour damage from magic-armour-damage skills will not inflict equal Corrosive damage. This is so far known only to occur if the first ability you use since loading your game is Chloroform.
  • Armor-only damage is not fully carried over: dealing 17 magic armor damage to a character with 5 magic armor will result in only 5 physical armor damage being dealt. Due to engine limitations, there is no workaround for this. At least it makes some kind of sense, eh?
  • Users of old mod versions may find this mod causes enemies' armour to be instantly, fully destroyed. You can fix this by disabling the mod, saving your game, exiting to main menu, re-enabling the mod and loading your game again.Failing this, the only solution is starting a new game. If you had this issue, you'd know immediately upon attacking your first enemy with both armor types. You will 100% not have this issue if you started using the mod after 28/05/2018.

Known incompatibilities:
  • Any mod that modifies the DefaultCharacter script will not be compatible with this one.
  • This mod is obviously not compatible with the 50% damage version.
