What is this?

SJ's Balance Patch is my attempt at making the schools of combat more in line with each other, in terms of power. Primarily, this means:

  • Buffs to 1h+shield melee setups
  • Nerfs to certain warrior skills
  • Horizontal movement from single target to multitarget on rangers 
  • A serious nerf to Apotheosis and a minor nerf to Skin graft
  • Nerf to T3 Elemental Source skills
  • Major buffs to scoundrel playstyle to allow them to keep up with rangers and warriors
  • Lengthening of certain buffs to allow them to feel more worthwhile to cast
  • Rebalancing of runes to support more hybrid-oriented characters
  • Buffs to niche skills to make them usable in more fights
  • Changes to melee weapons to make swords, axes, and clubs different from each other
  • Adjustments to per-level bonuses from abilities


So on, and so forth. There's other things still on my radar, such as possibly balancing polymorph skills to make it viable as a main class or increasing ability requirements for certain skills to make a class' strongest abilities near-exclusive to characters focusing on that school. That's for the full version, though. Feedback is always appreciated. I play on Tactician, and that is the difficulty that this mod was developed with in mind. Enjoy!
