The FastMoveSpeed_8 is working perfectly on GOG version Enhanced Edition. I recommend this speed 8, this is the only good speed, the rest, 5, 6, are slow still.
Agreed, x8 is the only way to play this game, unless you want to die from boredom. I also uses Better Loot mod, because i don't have the time to farm / loadSaveScum. I am too old for this s*** Although inventory managment (selling all of the stuff to get the good stuff, or storing items one by one), is still ultra bad. I am enjoying the game with those 2 mods now
downloaded on september 2023 with DOS EE 2.0.119.430. Pak is 10MB less than original though, maybe it's kindof a zip with better compression there. it is working nicely, thank you, i was going mad with slowness of the walking speed :)
prevent us from looking for the exe to unpak DOS pak files, which is only available on github and you have to compile it, for what i found. I don't like to donwload exes anyway, although i am not feeling 100% safe to download a .pak file that may.. I do not know about security breach for ressources files for DOS EE !
Definitely works 4/21/23 with the latest Steam version. No new game or anything required.
Just open the game directory, open the "Data" folder, and rename "MainLSF.pak" to something else (I renamed mine to "(Original)MainLSF.pak") Once you've done that, unzip the download and drop "MainLSF.pak" from the mod into the game directory's "Data" folder.
You can turn it off and on by naming the modded .pak file to something else, and then renaming the original file back to "MainLSF.pak"
Thought I’d post to update that this does still work. Managed to install it on both my pc and steam deck. Just extract the contents of the data folder from the mod into the dos ee data folder. It’s really straight forward!
Can you shere how did you make this mod, which files to edit? I noticed that download file MainLSF.pak is 25MB while the file size in game is 33.5MB. It is likely the reason why it does not work for people.
Thank you for this mod. I'm playing this after Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 (where you can speed up time to move faster in the map) and I was going crazy with the really slow speed of the characters while walking... I'm using version 8... and it's the perfect speed while not in combat. Still not as good as the PoE way (where you can disable speed up if you are not walking in the map) but better than moving like a turtle.
