When you use a chest/talk to villagers with run toggled, when you leave the chest/dialog you will move a large distance fast or teleport in a direction where you were moving in the UI. With the mod and run toggle, some UI and menus no longer cancel out your movement.
I have it sprint toggle bound to F12. In steam controller settings I have left stick click rebound to F12. You have to press left click more than once very often to toggle it back and forth. It seems like mainly a debouncing issue with the legacy unity input and controllers. I know its an edge case but it would be awesome if it worked more smoothly for toggle.
Couple minor issues but still works well on latest.
Ok, I see that when using a chest or talking to an NPC, if you are holding the joystick/button to move when you exit it, you will zoom forward a bit, like a double move. Not sure if there's really anything I can do about that.
I can't seem to get menus to not cancel movement, though. (There are some vanilla issues with this, like I can still drive vehicles with menus open, but that's not this mod doing that.)
And the pressing of the left stick not always registering is not something i have any control over, that's all Unity and the game.
so... Logged in and realized im sprinting. But no stamina cost. If i hold shift, I start walking normal speed... but theres stamina cost. So its backwards! any advice?? thanks!
Since I released this mod, the game has added a walk feature. That is, hold shift to walk slowly. So, what I think is happening is, the keybind is triggering the walk slowly from the game AND the stamina use from my mod as if you were sprinting. Simply changing one of the keybinds (either the mod or the game) so they don't conflict should hopefully resolve your problem.
After installing the mod, run the game once up to the main menu, then exit. Locate the file ...\Dinkum\BepInEx\config\Snaitf.Dinkum.Sprint.cfg and open it with any text editor. Change the values you would like, save, and close the text file. Next time you run the game, the new preferences will be used.
Just wanted to let you know that sometimes the sprint gets toggled (i didn't have a toggle button set up) and never gets untoggled. Requires a restart to get fixed. I've set up a toggle button now to see it that fixes it. I'll let you know if the bug happens again (has happened 4 times in the past two weeks).
I'm having an issue with this mod: The config refuses to allow me to change it. When I set the key to leftshift it reverts back to the mouse button when the game loads.
Make sure you have the latest version of the mod, and that the game is completely closed when you open, edit, save, and exit the config file. then relaunch the game. having the config file open in an editor when you run the game can prevent it from being read and defaults getting used.
That, I'm not sure about. I think all you want to bother with is Joystick1... as for which button is which, might just need some trial and error. I personally use kbm.
Some searching makes it seem that it will be different depending on the controller you use, and the operating system you're on. I would suggest Googling something like 'Unity controller button mapping' and finding an image result that matches what you're using and see if that works for you.
Thanks for the sprint mod. I've waiting and hoping someone would make this! Much appreciated - kudos and endorsed!
I love to see a mod that lets us control the speed of all vehicles, especially the jetski (which I think needs to be faster).
Another few mods I would love to see are:
1. Ability to use a spear in water when using the boogie board. 2. Make storage barrels and chests with more storage slots than the wooden crate. 3. Make the tropical coral rock an item that can be crafted and placed. 4. Increase the drop rate and the number of feathers from birds and turkeys. (I would like to see multiple feathers dropped and at least a 50%+ drop rate)
Not sure if any of these will spark your interest or not, but anyways, thanks again for the sprint mod!
If I knew how to make mods, I would do these myself.
