Changelogs
Ever wish a Dinkum playthrough lasted longer? Find yourself running out of things to do before the end of year 1, and then just... waiting? Marathon Mode slows down progression by increasing the costs of various progression goals, including new buildings, permanent tools and crafting tables, licenses, skill level-ups, and Franklin's new recipe unlocks.

If you're a new Dinkum player playing solo, this mod if probably not for you.

Compatibility

This mod was tested against Dinkum v0.8.6 Breezy Autumn, but may not affect certain new Breezy Autumn items, since the mod author hasn't found all the new items yet!

Gameplay Effects

Buildings

New buildings cost more town Debt and materials. Resident villagers donate a lot more towards the town debt. In the base game, the amount villagers donate is based on how high the debt is, so bigger Debts automatically mean bigger villager donations -- but I also buffed their donation rate on top of that.

Tools and Crafting Stations

These items cost more Dinks to purchase:
  • Table Saw, BBQ, Furnace, and Stone Grinder.
  • Everything from Franklyn, except the Bomb and Lawn Mower.
  • Watering Can.
  • Animal Feeders, Animal Food, Milk Bucket, and Shears.
  • Ted Selly's weapons.

These items cost more materials to craft:
  • Everything from Franklyn, except the Bomb and Lawn Mower.
  • Ted Selly's weapons.
  • All Bridges.
  • Crafting Table, Cooking Table, Windmill, Billy Can Kit, Keg, Crab Pot, and Bee House.
  • Animal Collection Point, and both Animal Traps.
  • Brick Well, Scarecrows, Worm Farm, Compost Bin, Watering Can upgrades, Water Tank, Sprinklers.
  • Grain Mill, Animal Feeder, Bird Coop, Animal Stall, Animal Den, Silo.
  • Row Boat, Sail Boat.

Camp Fires and Crude Furnaces craft more slowly.

Franklin needs more Shiny Discs to unlock his recipes.

Skills and XP

All skills take more XP to level up. Also adjusted the relative amounts of XP needed per skill so they should all level at roughly the same rate.

Licenses, Milestones, and Permit Points

Most licenses cost more permit points. Decorative licenses are unaffected, and certain early-game licenses are only slightly more expensive. Most Milestones have extra tiers, allowing you to keep earning Permit Points for longer. The Commerce License can be upgraded +2 extra levels, up to max level 5.

Installation

This is a regular BepinEx 6 mod. See the Using Mods page on Modding Wiki if you're new to Dinkum modding.
