About this mod

Allows you to change the ground under objects and buildings.

Paths, tiles, grass, etc. can now be placed under objects.
Or, paths and tiles can be removed from under objects, using a shovel, or some sort of pick/jackhammer.
The ground type can be changed by using a full shovel, such as a shovel of sand, mud, etc. The shovel will not empty, so you can keep using it.
If there was a tile/path there already, it will be returned to you.

This mod only affects the ground under objects. If there is no object present, it will behave as normal. A path will have to be picked up manually, then replaced, for example.

Pressing the Shovel Toggle Key will change how shovels of dirt behave, either normally as in vanilla, or replacing the ground under an object.
When toggling between the two, you will get a side notification, and when set to replacing, full shovels will have that appended to their item name.

By pressing the Hide/Show key, you can turn objects near you "off". That is, they will be invisible, and you can walk through them.
Don't worry, they are still there, and other entities, such as NPCs or animals, still can't pass through them.
Doing this will allow you to edit under buildings, or other multi-tiled objects, where you could normally not reach.
You can even mow the grass under hidden objects.
While active, objects will become visible/hidden within a set radius around you, as you move about.

After a hidden object becomes visible again, it might not show its animation or use state correctly.  For example, crab pots will look empty even if they are ready to be harvested, or a composter will look unused, even if it's full and working. This is just visual, and can be fixed by walking away then coming back.

The mod can't be activated or used while indoors, however, if you have objects hidden, and are standing on an object when you unhide them, you may be pushed out of the way, or even clipped inside of an object (just walk out of it, no harm), or fall into the 'void' (just wait a few seconds to finish falling and you'll appear back on land again).

I've tried to test this thoroughly, and it seems to be working quite well for me, but it can't hurt to backup your saves, just in case.

Config Options:
  • Modifier Key: Key to hold down while pressing the Hide/Show Key (None to disable). [Default: None]
  • Hide/Show Key: Key to press, while holding modifier key (if enabled), to hide or unhide objects. [Default: Keypad 7]
  • Shovel Toggle Key: Key to press, while holding modifier key (if enabled), to toggle how full shovels behave. [Default: Keypad 9]
  • Hide Radius: How many tiles out from you, in all directions, should objects be hidden? [Default: 10]
