About this mod

This mod will add map icons for certain resource nodes (like ore) so that you can much more easily go get them and know how much of it is left on your island. This does not reveal anything you couldn't see with your own eyes just walking past: It just adds it to the map.

Currently, it supports copper/tin/iron/quartz/opal nodes, the big wiggly rocks that drop iron and copper, bottle bushes (the red ones), oysters, and wary mu eggs.

This mod works both above ground and in the deep mine, but the icons reset when you go up or down the elevator. Icons also reset when you sleep. (Note that things you "carry" like wary mu eggs, will show up both above ground and underground if you turn their icons on, so don't get confused and think there are eggs underground. Carriables just "exist", unlike the map itself.)

Only a certain number of icons (by default, 25, configurable) will be shown at a time for each type (so 25 copper, 25 tin, etc.). If there are fewer than 25 (or whatever you set it to) icons, all icons will be shown. It will prioritize icons closer to your current position, and will update as you move.

The icons will automatically remove themselves once you have removed the node by mining it or digging it up. (This means the bottle bushes will still appear even if you harvest them: The icons will go away only if you break them for seeds.) However, there is a config file option that changes it so the icon goes away when the node has been harvested but not broken, if you want to use this mod to go around and harvest things rather than just breaking things. Only works on things that "grow", such as bottle brush, and not things you must break, like copper ore.

For wary mu eggs, their icons will disappear when the eggs are destroyed or moved from their original positions. If you have moved an egg and need to find it again, you can turn the icons off and on again and it will find the egg at its new position, until it is moved again.

No icons will be added for resource nodes in the water (other than ones normally in the water, like oysters), because most people won't know how to get them and won't bother.

To turn icons on and off, you use specific items on rocks (the regular short or tall ones, normal rocks). A copper/tin/iron/quartz ore will show those nodes, an opal will show opal nodes, a shiny stone will show the wiggly rocks, a bottle brush will show bottle bushes, a pearl will show oysters, and a metal detector will show nearby buried treasure (if you have the license) as gear icons. A feather will show wary mu eggs as chicken egg icons.

This mod will work fine in multiplayer, but be aware that the game does not fully send updates to your map if you are the client, so use my mod "Force Client To Get Server World" for the most up-to-date map. (The map will also update when you physically go to an area, so if you head towards some ore and it disappears before you get there, that means it never was there but your game thought it was, because the server did not yet tell it otherwise.)

This is a standard BepInEx 6 mod, so follow the standard Dinkum modding instructions and put the DLL file in your plugins folder. To create the config file, open Dinkum and immediately close it again. This mod is safe to remove at any time because it does not affect your save file in any way.
