CONCEPT

1. PRINCIPLE OF JOURNEYING. We create an Improved Game-flow through fixing mediums in the gameplay mechanism and align that flow with the expectations of the general player of d2r, while leaving at all times just enough "space" to crave for the next step of the game's character development or adventure. Some of these improvements involve expanding or devaluation randomizing factors in the game, mostly involved with skills, monsters and loot, which by itself changes the how the small encounters behave, thus creating slightly different game-encounter overall. The end goal of all this to provoke more interest in the player towards the development of their character, while minimizing the situations which could create frustration and general disinterest in playing d2r and having fun. Also this promotes the obnoxious d2r repetition-based gameplay and gratify its ultimate power, notably making d2r a game of its own caliber.

2. PRINCIPLE OF LORE AND TRADITION. Everything has its roots. Diablo 2 is no stranger to this wisdom. We preserve certain aspects of the game which have little benefit to be changed, but have a very strong build fundament in the mind of the general d2r player. Contradictions like changing monsters resistances are due to be evaded, with the motto "so more so less". Also all expansive maneuvers and additional content the mod offers are aligned with the ways d2r "speak" to the players. When We make changes, they are seemingly blending with the already established game, thus evoking the original diablo2 presence of mind in the player, luring him in the illusion that he's involved with pure diablo2, not "somebody's else diablo2". Of course this works to a certain extent, a level of compromise is necessary for this to work together with the other principles of the mod.

3.PRINCIPLE OF ART. The final and notably the most-important principle involves the ideas of game-player interactions. When a player enjoys a session of d2r, he is experiencing halfway himself in motion and halfway the ideas and motions of the game creators of d2r. The ART is born within this interaction, where the player meets the game. Every click is a stroke of art, and We strive to multiply the enjoyment of the player's opportunity to paint its own art on the d2r canvas. Much of the additional content serves this purpose. There are provided more colors and more expansive tools for self-expression, in the face of Lore-friendly Items, Craft Methods and Runewords. As well, the incredibly punctual affix system comes to aid in situations where "art must be found" and there is only the chance of fate to deliver it.

GAMEPLAY

Sorceress: Buildwise possible to go in single tree for huge efficiency, but 3-Ele is very easy to build and play as well. Energy Shield is almost mandatory. Enchant works 100% strength on minions/hirelings.

Druid: Summoning can be effective if you invest good amount of skill points there. Elemental skills are causing much more AoE and generally better than before. Shape Shifting is a situational tree, not the fastest to level, yet can be very good option at late game when the character has better gear.

Assassin: Well fitted to use her broad range of skills instead of a single trap or a single martial skill. The most "hybrid class" balanced to be even better hybrid. Venom can be very deadly with gear that gives + % Poison Damage, Mind blast is now used for "push" mostly, its convert chance is significantly lowered.

Barbarian: You can make him Whirlwind boy, Berserker, Frenzy barb, Thrower, or whatever you wish to. Note, that you start with Double swing instead of Bash at lvl 1 skill bar on combat skills. Also Masteries are very important factor in the way how Barbarians deal damage. Shout and Battle Orders are not as cheesy to stack your skill points now.

Paladin: Hammerdin is not as imbalanced in late game now. You can still pack a punch with it, but you'd need a good gear. Made this so, players find it fun to utilize his versatility as a class. Maybe make a build different than smite or hammer. Auras have much better range now.

Necromancer: Necro can be quite a match for the other elemental casters. His poisons are quite deadly now. In the most indiscrete manner he's a beast. He has as well a special new skill, which if used properly can deal lots of damage in small area with no need of skilling it heavily. However using it requires a intuition and a little bit more effort (than poison nova for example).

Amazon: A class made to be utilized easily, but mastered only after many sessions. Amazon's play can vary from very tedious to very easy, an experienced player will probably have much better chance of unlocking her potential than a newcomer to d2. The changes to note for her are mostly in passive and magic skills. Decoy has been replaced with the passive skill - Sprint. Bow and spear are adjusted to be easily serviceable main build trees.
