This mod aims to give all the portraits in Dead State a more realistic feel by replacing all the hand-drawn portraits with portraits created by myself using a 3D character generating tool and Photoshop.

Installation (Copied from JojimBeau's Celebrity Portraits):

This can be tricky for novice computer users, so follow along carefully…
Navigate to …Steam/steamapps/common/Dead State/art
Stop here for a minute and find gui.aod, now and extract it with 7-Zip, WinRAR, or PKUNZIP. I don’t care what program you use, the important thing is to extract it so that you now have a folder here that says “gui”.
I use 7-Zip, so here’s how I do it. Right click on gui.aod, go down to 7-Zip, then over to “extract to gui/”, click it.
Now you will right-click on gui.aod and select the option to rename it. In the name field add .bak to the very end and press enter. Windows will caution you about changing file extension, but go ahead and change it so you have a backup in case you need to or want to revert to the old files. Moving on!

Open the gui folder that you just created, then go to portraits. See all these boring old pictures? We’re going to replace them now. Extract the portraits.zip file that you downloaded to the location of your choosing, then copy and paste all of the files into this directory, selecting “Copy and Replace” when prompted. All done! Start up Dead State and load your current game to see the changes.

Uninstall/Un-do:
Navigate to …Steam/steamapps/common/Dead State/art
Right click on the folder named “gui” and select delete. Now, right click on gui.aod.bak and select rename. Remove the extension .bak and press enter, confirming when Windows warns about changing file extensions. All done! Enjoy your boring old portraits.
