I can only speculate as I don't have Steam Deck. Please feel free to correct me if write anything stupid here, as my closest experience would be running this game on Linux.
From my understanding, Steam deck uses and OS based on Linux, and this games runs under Proton, which would be an emulator to allow Windows games to run in such OS. If this is the case, I suppose you will need to get access to the Steam Deck Storage, so you can access the game files and copy AutoLink and the mods into it. If this can be done, then the mods should work as I have managed to run this game on Linux under Wine. Please note Wine allows for NET Framework installation on its Windows "instance", and this might be needed to run AutoLink. Not sure how to cover this one in Steam Deck's OS/Proton.
How to access the Steam deck storage and get this done is something I don't know.
hello i was wondering if anyone knows how to get this to work along side xinput plus the ini say something about renaming the xinput ini but the fiile is mostly chinese and i cant read it and when i try to translate it doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me the info is very vague with no step by step well i am not new to modding and have worked with stuff like this before the instructions are not very clear so Aany hgelp would be great thanks
You mean this instruction below? If you need to use the XBOX ONE correction dll XInputPlus (xbox one controller to directinput mapping), you can rename the XBOX ONE correction dll to dinput8ex.bin ( AutoLink's dinput8.dll => dinput8ex.bin => system's dinput8.dll )
It looks a little confusing indeed. I would try renaming the dinput8.dll from XInputPlus to dinput8ex.bin. Possibly AutoLink will look for this file in order to load XInput instructions.
It would explain this chain: AutoLink's dinput8.dll => dinput8ex.bin => system's dinput8.dll, meaning the AutoLink dll will look for the renamed bin and then go to the system dll.
Hi everyone. First of all, thank you for the mod. But, is there any option that when playing random for character selection, match after match (without going back to the select screen!, Thank you DOA!!!) the costume mods are available? I thing this option is quite buggy right now. Thank you!
If you mean having you oponent (or your character) wearing costume mod when playing against random oponent (or with random costume option for your character), the only way I know how to do it using AutoLink is to select the costume mod in every single characeter costume slot.
In other words, I myself have mods split into different costume slots: 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on. If I choose a character and change the costume in each one of these slots to the mod, then the character will wear it in the random selection. This works both ways, for your oponent, and for your character.
If you are refering to story, victory and defeat movies, these are unlocked by playing the game. As an example, after all these years I still have over 20 victory movies locked. Mostly for male characters.
You mean her hair? If the vanilla hair is loading with the mod, you got to add a HAIR.EMPTY file to the mod, to prevent it from loading the vanilla hair.
You can get this file from the mod below: https://www.nexusmods.com/deadoralive5/mods/179 Just rename it to have the same name as your mod, leaving the extension as .HAIR.EMPTY.
I'm not sure what you mean. To unlock stuff in the game you got to play thru it or download a 100% save. However, if you are talking about unlocking things in the Core Fighters version of the game, then it's another story. I don't have any experience with this version, as I've bought the full game at launch.
Hello. I put this link, because your files are outdated. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1E1NPX-gWZeTwReYP4POzx2SjEmM5YsnO/view This is the link wher you can find on steam: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1136603335
The intro skip and 60FPS cutscenes seems to not be working for me. And when I install ReShade using the method you suggested the costume selection screen also stops working and all I have left is the hotkey features.
I'm not sure how the intro skip is supposed to work. It never did work to me either. It can be done manually if you want. Make a backup of the original ninja_vi.wmv file from the game root folder, then delete it and rename the file ninja_vi_empty.wmv file from AutoLink to ninja_vi.wmv. About the 60FPS cutscenes, I never checked it to be honest. No idea how it could be fixed.
Regarding Reshade, I never tried to use it with the game. I'm running SweetFX, but let's see if I can help.
When you install reashde, does it place a d3d9.dll file in the game root folder? The method I use is to make a backup of this file, install AutoLink, and them replace AutoLink's the d3d9.dll by the Reshade/SweetFX backup.
The method recommended by the AutoLink creator is a differente one: "According to AutoLink instructions, we should rename the Reshade/SweetFX .dll file to d3d9ex.dll, so AutoLink's d3d9.dll file remains untouched. In other words: First install the postprocessing mod, then rename its .ddl, and finally copy the AutoLink files to the game folder."
I recommend you to try both options, starting from clean game files, to make sure there is no leftover files. Somteve's mentions in the post below that re-installing everything made it work. So it's worth trying.
I actually did tried that method, but renaming ReShade's dll to d3d9ex makes the game crash. The only method that worked was yours, even tho not fully.
i am trying to make the game works in ultrawide with this mod and ultrawide mod does came with it's own d3d9.dll so i change d3d9.dll that came with this mod to d3d9ex.dll if i don't add "ex" then autolink won't work at all the game plays fine, things work but the Ui doesn't work at all while ultrawide mod does work i don't know how to edit or do anything in d3d9.dll is there anyway to make them both works ? the Ui is a must and i don't wan't to lose ultrawide capability can you make them compatible or where do i start modifying d3d9.dll ?
The correct procedure is to rename the d3d9.dll from your ultrawide mod to d3d9ex.dll. The AutoLink d3d9.dll will load your scree mod .dll.
Please note I was never able to make this work, I'm only quoting the instructions given by the mod author. I would avise you to try this first, although it never worked for me.
Second thing you can try is to replace the AutoLink d3d9.dll file by the one from your ultrawide mod, and have no d3d9ex.dll at the game fonder. This is the option which rowked for me, but not for ultrawide mod. The screen mod I'm using is SweetFX.
About editing .dll files, this is something I never tried.
this is funny i already did what you just said and it does not work so i came to this page to ask if you knew how to modify .dll file HOWEVER i did as you told and this time around it does work :o i just don't know what when why how it happend but i'm happy with the result i guess re-install everything did fix it somehow :D thanks for responding must be some kind of black magic going on lol.
I've search in 3DM Forum, and I've found someone said that the D3D9 was not compatible with Win11, will make the game crash. And he said "I just change it into D3D10 and it works". I'm not sure what is "change into", maybe it means rename or replace, you guys can try it. :-)
P.S. Well, I'm using DOA Beach Paradise 8.21, with Steam, in Win11 21H2(22000.1281). I don't need to change anything at all. I just unzip the DOAHDM in my DOA5LR root folder and that's all, no error is reported, everything can be use perfectly.
I've compare the MD5, DOAHDM use exactly the same d3d9.dll as Autolink's. So maybe DOAHDM use some way to solve this problem, or maybe Microsoft solve this problem in one of the updates.(I didn't compare the .ini setting as I'm lazy, maybe the DOAHDM change the setting...I don't know lol)
Besides, FallingCat said in the readme, that if the d3d9.dll was not found in the folder, some extended funtion will unable to use.So...but...up to you guys.
In the 3DM post one guy mention removing the d3d9.dll file and the game working without AutoLink, so the game runs on Windows 11, challenge is to make it run with AutoLink. The d3d9.dll I have in my game folder is not from AutoLink. It's from SweetFX instead, and AutoLink works fine.
I wonder if installing SweetFX with d3d10.dll would make AutoLink work on Windows 11. It's difficult to tell since I'm not running Windows11.
About BeachParadise, I could be wrong, but I got the impression it runs on Ink_reshuffle, despite the AutoLink folder inside the files. I do recognize some Ink_reshuffle files in the root folder, and there is also Reshade files. The AutoLink folder has all the movies, and faces/hair. I don't know much about in Ink_reshuffle, but it looks like it can be run by itself, and with AutoLink.
There is only one problem. This renaming doesn't work for me, as the game will not even start, resulting in this error: 14/12/2022 12:47:38:744 [03780] | ERROR | Unable to resolve hook for '0x732142D0'!
Reason why I had to replace the AutoLink d3d9.dll by the SweetFX one.
Looking at the SweetFX .dll log, I see these entries: 14/12/2022 12:55:27:392 [15820] | INFO | Registering hooks for "C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3d9.dll" ... 14/12/2022 12:55:27:392 [15820] | INFO | > Delayed. 14/12/2022 12:55:27:392 [15820] | INFO | Registering hooks for "C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3d10.dll" ... 14/12/2022 12:55:27:392 [15820] | INFO | > Delayed. 14/12/2022 12:55:27:393 [15820] | INFO | Registering hooks for "C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3d10_1.dll" ... 14/12/2022 12:55:27:393 [15820] | INFO | > Delayed. 14/12/2022 12:55:27:393 [15820] | INFO | Registering hooks for "C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3d11.dll" ... 14/12/2022 12:55:27:393 [15820] | INFO | > Delayed. 14/12/2022 12:55:27:393 [15820] | INFO | Registering hooks for "C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxgi.dll" ... 14/12/2022 12:55:27:393 [15820] | INFO | > Delayed. 14/12/2022 12:55:27:393 [15820] | INFO | Registering hooks for "C:\WINDOWS\system32\opengl32.dll" ... 14/12/2022 12:55:27:393 [15820] | INFO | > Delayed.

It looks like this SweetFX d3d9.dll tries to "hook" to any .dll available in the system.
Offcourse I do, the game is "hooking" into it to inject the mods. Many of my games run on DirectX 9, and never had trouble since started using Windows 10, despite the fact the system is garbage.
One day I might be able to move it all to Linux, and get rid of Windows once and for all.
OH OH OH sorry I've just totally misunderstood your meaning, please forgive me. What is working fine for you, that is the good way, forget what I wrote lol.

If the vanilla hair is loading with the mod, you got to add a HAIR.EMPTY file to the mod, to prevent it from loading the vanilla hair.
You can get this file from the mod below:

"FallingCat" is great!
It's AutoLink 3.30

And you're right, I have the same feeling as you, as FallingCat said d3d9 is important.
