If you're using the Dead Island Definitive edition on steam it seems that the game is not reading Data0.pak's default_levels.xml.
Instead, it seems to be using Data3.pak's default_levels.xml.
*back up any files before messing with them* As such; open up Data3.pak\data\skills\default_levels.xml and then edit all lines referencing "durability" and change their values to -200.0, which is what this mod author did to the values in Data0.pak. Save the file and close notepad. A prompt on .zip or .rar should pop up asking if you want to update the files in Data3.pak, hit yes.
*** DO NOT *** just copy this mod's default_levels.xml and throw it into Data3.pak, you will break your game as many values were reworked in some big patch.
Yes this probably means some of your other mods might not be working either if they edit Data0.pak and there are similar files in Data3.pak.
Found that mod is incompatible with the final dead island mod. for me at least just wondering if there is a way around this issue i have tried in stalling either first and running them separate and together both work separately but never together no matter how i copy files or run one before the other???
25Aug22- I just installed this Mod in the Dead Island Definitive Edition PC (Steam), followed the directions, replaced the Default_Level file with the modded version. There seems to be no difference on degradation of used weapons. They still wear out just as fast as they did before. Any ideas or a fix? Thanks...
I don't know what to do; I've followed the instructions to where I have to copy default_skills.xml into Data0.pak, where 7-Zip doesn't even show the .pak file to move the xml into. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.
