Dead Island has always been my favorite game probably due to the fun I had on it back in 2012 playing with a good friend (we really enjoined the glitches and game play ). I had started modding dead island definitive edition for fun and to get more out of my playthroughs. When I published my first data pack mod to Nexus I was surprised by how many people enjoyed it.  After getting many requests for features to add I thought out to design a menu that could let people create the experience they wanted in dead island (kind of a way to teach myself programming as well) and with that I'm proud to announce Deadisland Definitive mod menu.

~I'd like to eventually port this mod menu to the OG first games as well someday when I get some free time.
I also have a menu for Dead Island Riptide Ultimate edition

BUGS/notes:
1)--As of now I have been unsuccessful in making the flashlight infinite/have a longer life as well as being able to make the truck headlights work
2)--If playing night time version, I recommend setting your gamma to at least half when in the city/resort and to at least the 3rd notch when in the jungle/laboratory but you should play around with the gamma until you find a nice balance of dark and being able to see also note: It can be especially dark in the jungle/laboratory areas as I can't seem to figure out how the Data2.pak loads the maps time/weather *_light.scr files. This means I can only make changes that effect all maps/areas and not on a per map basis.
3)--Things that I'd like to do but would require more in depth modding like modding .dll files and other binaries:
  • remove auto-aim
  • unlimited flashlight/truck lights (OG methods don't work with definitive edition)
  • kickable beach balls
  • friendly fire
Also I would like to add in a feature where the player could select a data0.pak that has a mod from someone else and merge it into the data0.pak that my menu makes but it would require me to learn a different programming language so for the time being this will probably most likely not be added.**If anyone can help with these issues please let me know by contacting me through my profile on nexus mods or by leaving a post on the mod page..

INSTALATION:
1》Extract The executable (.exe) and run it and follow the directions on the screen. 
Simple as that.
windows might throw a fit about it being an unknown program but the source code was written in AHK and if you wanted to take a look at it the source code is on GitHub: Dead Island mod menu

2》When it's running it will guide you though setting up the game to be able to mod it and then it's as simple as just checking the boxes next to the mods you want to enable/disable.
