For those wanting to edit their own range ( Note: this should also work for other ranged related mods) you'll need AssetEditor by Kai Heilos. It'll let you extract pak files (mods), edit uasset files in it, and repack the mod. You'll need to edit every shotgun weapon individually and repack the file once done before you can use the mod.

    How to extract and repack:
    Functions tab

    How to edit mod:
    File > Open > extracted mod location > BendGame > Content > Weapons > Projectile_Weapons > shotguns > Projectiles

There you'll need to edit the uasset files for individual shotguns at Projectiles folder and the ones inside Weaponspecific folders. Leave the type folder alone since that's for bullets and Bend_BulletImpact_shotgun.uasset at Projectiles file. Again leave those alone.

Once you selected your weapon uasset file to modify you'll need to double click on ' Code Blocks ' and look for a  ' Block # ' that has 'None' for the name. Double click ' ProjectileConfig ' and on the right side filled with descriptions of xyz look for ' MaxWeaponRange ' and edit the value for it. Here play with the numbers to get to your preferred range.

Since the mod is 10x range just divide the number you see there by 10 and you'll get your original unmodded values for that specific shotgun.

Personally I find 2x is the best range for a shotgun while 3x is pretty close to sniper rifle range after testing around. Once you decide your preferred range just multiply it with the original unmodded values ( the number you get after dividing 10) and you're good.

*** Important *** After you input your changes hit enter so it'll go to the next value then go to File > Save. You should see a new pop up that says the file is saved. Program is a bit finicky so be sure to go back and check if your changes are actually saved.

Now do the same for every shotgun. Once you're done you need to repack the mod, so just go to Functions > Package Folder > and go back all the way to BendGame and select that to repack. Remember to name your newly created pak.

    That's it.

    "You're a Modder Harry".

    ------

I would like to thank the mod creator for this awesome mod. It's a tad on the overkill side but non-the-less just what I need. And I would like the thank the commentor below that hinted on ' MaxWeaponRange ' but never quite figured out how to save his changes.

I have no programming skills or have modded a game before but just staying curious while reading comments, googling and youtube; one thing just leads to another and... Voilà. I bet all modders are the same. XD

Do rename the spaks folder affect anything in-game?

I'm wondering this too. The sfpaks folder already has a lot of default files in it. Doesn't renaming the folder cause issues in the game? If the game needed one of the files from the sfpaks folder, but it's renamed sfpakss, wouldn't the game have bugs or instability?

I saw on a different mod page here that if you go into the sfpaks folder and rename only the pak file named staruppackages to something else (they said startuppackages_modsenabled so i did that) it will have the same effect of making most every mod work and go back to the original loadtimes ect. Its worked for me so far with around 10 mods but it may not work with everyone/ones that modify stuff like spawn rates or world entities

I think the game is designed to load the folder either by that designated name, or alphabetically in that root folder. So stuff in that folder gets loaded, just overridden by the mod Paks.

Could we get the increased range combined with smaller spread (hoping for more damage when using the shotgun, for myself and the AI).

Bro, please, make 2x range version of this for balance, ofc 10x range is nice, but for many people this is to much.

Not working for me for some reason. Other mods do, even others from the same author like the suppressor one.
Is this just a purely mechanical change, or does the listed stat also change to reflect the added range?

Looks like there was an update to the game today. I was playing earlier today with the mod working just fine and got off for a couple hours and notice steam had auto updated my game to 1.04 and now the mod isn't working for me either.

I really hope this mod gets an update (I was about to try it today but apparently it's not working with v1.04?

Does this also affect AI using the shotgun? Hate that they shoot me with a shotgun at close range and it hardly does any damage to Deacon (playing on hard difficulty).

Make sure to rename your sfpaks back to something other then sfpaks. Steam redownloads it. Also name it sfpaks before doing an update so it doesn't redownload them all.

Just to help people out, if im not wrong... The folder is in your C drive(or what ever your main drive is) under users/*whatever username*/AppData/local/bendgame/saved . In the saved folder create a folder called Paks(if not already present) and unzip file into folder... Then go to where you have you game file at(separate from files talked about above usually) and inside daysgone/bendgame/content ,  change the sfpaks folder to sfpaksS . Please correct me if im wrong still havnt ran the game since doing so my self.

I've been modding since skyrim came out, so I already know this, but the information you have provided, though simple it is, is invaluable to many people. I cant tell you how bad i would have wanted to see a post like this when I first started modding, it always made things so much easier. So thank you for taking the time
