Ever wonder why every police car in a game set in rural Oregon is a municipal police car? Farewell, based on Bend, is over 60 miles away from Chemult in an entirely different county, and yet Farewell police cars are still seen in and around the Chemult area and all over rural parts of the state far away from Farewell. I wondered that myself, and decided to go about replacing the police vehicles with more context friendly vehicles that would fit in more in the rural unincorporated areas the game is almost entirely set in. Unfortunately, due to the way the vehicle is mapped I could not make the fender say "STATE TROOPER" as it does in real life as it would be mirrored on one side of the vehicle. This end result is an unfortunately necessary compromise.
INSTALLATION: If you already have mods set up, simply drop the pak into your localappdata paks folder
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE MODS SET UP here is a simple tutorial: -Navigate to DaysGone\BendGame\Content -rename "startuppackages.pak" to literally anything else. The game looks for that exact file name, so changing a single character such as making it "startuppackages1.pak:" should work. -go to %localappdata%\Local\BendGame\Saved\Paks. If there is no Paks folder, simply make a new folder and title it Paks. -extract the contents of this file to the aforementioned Paks folder -launch game and test that the mod is working
