Increased Swarmers x5

Changelogs
I have created an update for this mod and have replaced the old file. Due to the fact that after witnessing varying sizes of groups of swarmers i have deduced that "x5" wasnt necessarily correct. The way the spawning system works is a weighted system so it's anybodys guess what the numbers technically mean. i have multiplied this weighted system by 50 and it looks to be that its somewhere between X5 and X10. Still barely any noticeable changes to the daytime spawning though and i am working on that. For now what you get is what you get. This mod still doesnt work the way i want it to but i don't think it's possible to edit how many spawn immediately. There will never be a large group congregating. It will always be the default number that spawn and then as time passes more will spawn and come towards you. This is not very immersive in a sense but it's the best i can do with my limited knowledge of how the assets work and it seems the developers have hidden or disabled a very specific asset that i need in order to change that. The way this mod works is i lessened the "weight" of a spawn so it registers that each spawn is considered less than 1 but not zero. if i were to set it to zero they would instantaneously spawn everywhere all at once i imagine is what would happen. Furthermore i have lessened the amount of time between spawns to half. I'm fairly certain lowering it even more would be considered the next "tier" of number of spawns. This all depends upon what chapter and part of the map you're on as well. Cascade is still low spawns, iron butte is tier 2 and wizard island is tier 3 in correlation to how many spawn. I simply cannot alter how many spawn at first. I have emailed and facebook messaged Bend Studio in an attempt to get in touch with a dev to reimplement the asset that allows editing of the number of spawns. Could be a waste of time but we'll see what happens. I know a lot of you want this mod to work the way it should and if they get back to me and reimplement the asset i will archive this mod and create a new one.

Be forewarned if using this in conjunction with "massive challenging hordes" it will eat up a lot of your graphics card utilization. It could cause crashes if your video memory is low. It will say something like "out of video memory trying to allocate a texture" This is not an issue with the mod but an issue with your graphics card attempting to render a lot of textures at once. There are fixes for this that dont require you to uninstall the mod and never get to play with it. Follow this link and it will explain what you need to do, https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/out-of-video-memory.html

For an even greater challenge go and download my newest mod Deadly by Night to speed up the swarmers for true nightmare fuel

I have included the version that broke my game in a sense where you have to fight 20 carlos lmao. Also that cute little mission where you and rikki go kill maybe 5 swarmers and 5 newts to fix the electric pole? Well now its a horde of almost 200 swarmers and 25 newts. I figured out what i did wrong but i broke it lmao.  dont download that version unless you want to break your game and deal with impossible scenarios such as fighting 15 carlos, killing that hoard, fighting 100 freakers in the mining tunnel scene, sneaking around 25 nero guards and scientists the list goes on and on. this may be a good mod for screwing around with the debug menu loading jobs and seeing what happens. If you do go with this version make sure you download a mod for infinite ammo or large ammo reserves. This will also eat up a ton of video memory.

If you install this mod then subsequently want to uninstall it you will have to do two things 1. find where wavespawner.uasset file is located under the cooked folder structure. Delete that asset. 2. Verify the integrity of your game files is required i believe. To do this go to the bottom of this post and it will explain how to do so.

In order to use "Cooked" file mods you must first. These types of mods will not work on mac

1.Unhide App extensions

For Windows 11
  • Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
  • Select  the VIEW tab go to the show options and select HIDDEN ITEMS

    For Windows 10
  • Open FILE EXPLORER from the taskbar.
  • Select the VIEW Tab go to OPTIONS and select the change folder and search options
  • Select the VIEW tab, in advanced settings select show hidden folders, files, and drives
  • Select Ok2. Find the sfpaks folder ( must be using the steam version)
  •  Open FIle Explorer and select you main drive that your game is stored on should look like Windows (C):
  • Open PROGRAM FILES (x86)
  • Scroll down and open STEAM
  • Scroll down and select STEAMAPPS
  • Open COMMON
  • Open DAYS GONE
  • Open BENDGAME
  • Open CONTENT
  • Rename sfpaks to sfpakss by clicking the folder, pause a second then click it again and will allow you to alter the name of the folder
  •  3. (This is where unhiding the app extensions comes into play) Open the folder for whatever you computer is named mine is Ryan ******
  • If you don't know the name of your computer go to and open your main windows drive  should look like WINDOWS (C):
  • Select users
  • It should be fairly obvious which one is the computers name open that
  • Open APPDATA it should be a lighter colored folder name than  the rest
  • Open LOCAL folder
  • Open BENDGAME

    4. Drag the COOKED folder from the mod from wherever you saved the mod into the opened folder showing a long number, config, config, cooked, logs, paks
  • It will ask you if you want to merge the folders , select merge
  • Now the mod is saved into your game. You can remove it at any time by going into the cooked folder and deleting any files that show up in there
  • (Notes) if you are having an issue with removing a mod and it doesnt appear to get removed from your game whenever you want to remove it it may be the type of mod that gets baked into your specific save permanently i don't know which of my mods do this at this time. For ones that can be removed  You can VERIFY INTEGRITY of the games files and it will remove all mods from your game. If you are using vortex for other pak mods the mods will be there but theyve just been disconnected from the game. All you have to do is redeploy the mods on vortex. You may have to go back and rename sfpaks to sfpakss again im not sure.
    •  To verify integrity of the game open steam app
    • Open Library
    • Right click on Days Gone and open properties
    • Select Local Files then click verify integrity of game files
    • Any time you do this it will implement a new "sfpaks" folder and will also have your "sfpakss" folder still there. To reinstall all of your mods delete the new sfpaks folder as long as there is also an sfpakss folder present. This will reinstall all your mods. Make sure you do this BEFORE you start the game back up or some of your mods wont work anymore such as ammo storage mods and mods that alter values of certain assets.
    • This is the best way to go about removing every mod instead of having to manually delete every mod or removing them all on vortex one at a time which is a pain ( if you ever want to quickly disconnect but not remove all mods on vortex select purge mods option above the mod list
