I bought Days Gone when it came out last year and shortly after that, I made a difficulty mod for myself. I don't know why I never uploaded it, but there it is. I actually am not even sure it will work since the game has been updated several times after I made the mod, but it might... if not, post in the comments.
Off the top of my head, the mod does several things.
-Lowers XP gain from missions and kills
-Enemies are tougher (more HP and player does less damage) and do more damage
-Supplies do not respawn
-I think I made several store items more expensive
There might be more but like I said, it's been over a year since I messed with it. I apologize for not uploading it for everyone since the game sorely needs it. Again, I make no guarantees that it works since it is probably out of date but I am making a shot in the dark that it does.
Installation is usual mod install. IIRC you drop the .pak into AppData\Local\BendGame\Saved\Paks and go into Days Gone\BendGame\Content and rename sfpaks to sfpakss.
UPDATE: JANUARY 2023
After having played DG again over the last couple weeks, I've made several changes as my game went on. I can't remember everything but (again) off the top of my head: further increases to enemy damage and health; less player damage; even tougher crafting requirements; even less XP for some activities; several weapon types had their reticles changed; guns and supplies are even more expensive; bike parts have been made more expensive thanks to lexo1000's Supply Tweaks mod (credit goes to him for allowing me to use his files in my mod - thank you!); snipers now shoot almost instantly upon spotting you; healing items heal for less, and I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them at the moment.
I also uploaded a version that only has the less XP files by request. I apologize to the user who asked months ago.
**NOTE**
I made shotguns into a special weapons so you can have ARs as primaries. The screens from weapon merchants don't adjust properly and so you won't see the MG45 or Talon 7 on screen. Simply remove my mod, buy them, and put my mod back if you want to purchase the MG45 or Talon 7.
