About this mod

Improve the base stat of the Badland rifle, as to become a worthy taker for your primary weapon slot

Permissions and credits
The Badland rifle is a somewhat interesting beast, relatively powerful but not too much, decent rate of fire but incapable of competing with any assault rifle, good precision but movement and recoil slow down precision aiming even more then the level action animation does, and of course useless against hordes.

This mod is meant to give the Badland rifle a more clear spot in your arsenal, by increasing it's precision, range, power, nearly zeroing recoil and setting a fixed value for reload speed, now you can have a powerful primary weapon without sacrificing the efficacy of the automatic competition

This mod alter the Badland rifle by:
  • Setting a Fixed Value of 1,5 Seconds For Reloading At Empty, Finally Giving This Weapon A Proper Spot On The Arsenal.*
  • More Then Double It's Stopping Power.
  • Approx 40+% Extra Damage.
  • Increase It's Effective And Critical Range, Somewhat Comparable To a Sniper Rifle.**
  • Significantly Increase Precision And Nearly Completely Remove Loss Of Lead By Recoil Or Movement.

The rate of fire is very slightly increased, as to properly align with the ending of the lever action animation for re-chambering, it's speed remain intact.
Additional Notes:
*: The original reload animation is divided into three parts, begin/loop/end. The loop section continue until the rifle "magazine" is full again and then deacon play the lever action sequence. This mod force the engine to play the whole animation on empty in 1,5 seconds ignoring the normal timing required by each section, thus quickening the reload by speeding up each part, but if the rifle has only 2 or less bullet missing, the reload sequence may look a bit, off, absurdly fast and maybe even comical. No other attempted method of adjusting the animation speed without outright replacing it worked as intended, so this is it.

**: Even with increased precision aiming above a certain distance without a scope is problematic in this game, as objects do not align correctly with you FOV with iron sights, and adding a scope to this rifle would slow down it's effectives in short range engagement. Summing up hitting something that can barely be seen in the distance may not register depending on your settings

Updates:
1.1: Forced the engine to register longer range shot by overriding the main rifle bullet file, as it was softcapping my overrides. Note that now all weapon categorized as "Rifle" may have longer range in general, no other way to remove the cap is doable ATM, not until we can modify this game scripts and propriety files at least.
