About this mod

Upgrades almost every texture in the game with a higher resolution version using cutting edge AI upscaling and utilizing Prepare to Die Edition textures as the base when necessary. Many DSR textures were washed out needlessly, so with these textures, the game will be more colorful and detailed! Environment, weapons, armor, and more!

Upgrades Dark Souls Remastered's textures through AI upscaling and using Prepare to Die Edition textures as the base when necessary. Many DSR textures were needlessly washed out in comparison to their PTDE versions, despite being the same resolution. So, through my work on the Dark Souls Re-Remastered mod, which includes these textures, I went through almost every single texture in the game, compared them with their PTDE variant, picked which one was best, and then upscaled it. I was very careful to be faithful and not upscale too far, so most received a 2x upscale. You may be wondering why this mod isn't as big as some 4K texture packs. Well, that's because I was very mindful to only upscale things as far as they needed. Not every texture needs to be 4K. Depends where the texture is applied. A texture on a cup is tiny and thus doesn't require a 4K texture to look incredibly sharp and detailed. This mod aims for a balanced look where everything has had a similar uplift in detail and fidelity.

Upgrades weapons, armor, environments, skies, bosses and everything in between. Plus new normal maps for many things too!

COMPATIBLE WITH ONLINE PLAY!

Installation:
Just copy the folders inside the .rar file straight into your Dark Souls Remastered folder.
Overwrite when asked.
That's it.

Uninstallation:
deleting those same folders, and then verifying through Steam.

NOTE: This mod doesn't require TPUP for texture unpacking and repacking. I've done that for you, so no need. Also, there's about 5 or so surfaces in the game which are hardcoded to have low res textures. I've fixed this in my DSRR mod, but it's outside the purview of this mod since it requires model edits, and more. Examples are some walls in Blighttown, a roof in Anor Londo, and a couple walls in Sens Fortress.

Does this mod work with other mods?
It varies. As long as they don't modify the same files this mod changes, then yes. To avoid issues with some mods, install this mod first, then install any other texture mods or other mods that include various textures in them.
