A quick tool to keep your saves safe from hackers. This is a quick band-aid I made, not a fix.
To use, download your applicable version (if your saves are in onedrive\documents, use the OneDrive version) and extract then run backupcmd.bat.
Leave it running and it will backup your saves every 5 mins.
CLOSE THE APPLICATION ASAP AFTER YOU ENCOUNTER ANY HACKER
we don't yet know how the soft/banning system works and even having hacked items or status' in your world or on your character could put you at risk.
This isn't a fully fleshed out mod, it's a batch file I wrote in 5 mins to serve a purpose until someone makes a proper save manager. I would write one myself but I just don't have time for the next few days.
To restore your backups, run BackupRestore and follow the prompts.
If the application is "Copying 0 file/s" then your backups are the same file as your active files.
If the BackupRestore file is copying 0 files then your backups are the same as your active file and only Gwyn can help you now.
*This could happen because your game isn't autosaving correctly or you got incredibly unlucky and the application ran a cycle after your character stats were modified.
The reason the application runs on a loop rather than on open/keypress is to prevent it from being used as a method for easy save scumming.
