I wasn't all that impressed with ds3's lighting and such. I tried to improve on that by remove that kind of white overlay that was present, making shadows darker, and increasing the vibrancy of reds and blues a tad to help with the impression of magic and fires. Not to the point of an oversaturated piece of crap, but where it still retains that washed-out look. Also some sharpening to improve on the details of the beautiful textures. Torches may actually be somewhat useful in some areas now aside for slapping dogs and burning maggots.
Installation
Pre: make sure your monitor is set up right.
1. Download GEMFX and point the installation to "steamapps\common\DARK SOULS III\Game"
2. Download the preset from the files section and drop it in "DARK SOULS III\Game\GEMFX"
3. Start the GEMFX configurator which is located with DarkSoulsIII.exe and make sure 64Bit Application is checked.
4. Boot up ye ol' Dark Souls 3 and change the gamma setting anywhere from 1-3 (I use 2), and turn off AA.
5. Start the game and enjoy. I mean I hope you enjoy the preset, at least enjoy dark souls 3.
Oh also f9 turns off the effects, and PrtScn takes a screenshot and places it in your game's directory.
