About this mod

Randomizes the Weapon Item in your first right hand slot every 5 seconds by default. The weapon has a random infusion and has your current max upgrade level.
The mod has a ton of optional features such as spell randomization, visual infusion effects, ignoring requirements, universal weapon art hitbox support & excluding certain weapon type

Randomizes the Weapon Item in your first right hand slot every 5 seconds by default, this actually changes the inventory weapon and therefor it's icon. The weapon has a random infusion(If it can be infused) and is auto-upgraded to your current max upgrade level.



Features
This mod has a ton of settings and optional features including:
  • Changing the rate at which your weapon swaps
  • Changing the categories of weapons you want to include or exclude(Shield, Special Shields, Spell Cataylsts, Bows and Crossbows etc.)
  • Visual Infusion effects that appear on switching to a weapon depending on it's infusion type
  • Randomizing your equipped spells if the mod equips a weapon that can cast them
  • An option to ignore weapon and spell requirements so you won't be have to worry about leveling to use a weapon or spell effectively
  • A text file in your game folder with the current weapon name to be used with your streaming or recording software.
  • An optional but recommended extension that adds hitboxes to almost every possible attack swap that could occur in the game

Is This Safe To Use Online?
It is almost certainly not safe to use online, and is programmed to prevent online play with it in the first place. This may change in the future but will still require you to be softbanned to allow you to play online with this mod. To play completely safe with this mod, I recommend making a family share account and doing a playthrough with the mod on that.


Compatibility
This mod if is compatible with DS3 Boss Rush if you chainload DS3 Boss Rush with Lazy Loader. Mod Engine also works if you use it with Lazy Load as well(No chainloading required). Cinders will likely not work as they break the ID conventions when it comes to the game's weapon params. Other mods you'll have to see for yourself.


Installation
Full Installation(Recommended):
  • Download Weapon and Spell Randomizer DS3.zip from this mod page, then download Lazy Loader And Mod Engine
  • Move dinput8.dll and lazyLoad.ini from Lazy Loader into your Game directory(\steamapps\common\DARK SOULS III\Game) which can be found via right clicking DS3 on steam -> Properties -> Local Files -> Browse...
  • Move dllMods folder from Lazy Load into your Game directory, then move WeaponRandomizer.dll from Weapon and Spell Randomizer DS3 into the dllMods folder now inside your Game folder
  • Move dinput8.dll from Mod Engine into the dllMods folder
  • Move the mods folder and modengine.ini from Weapon and Spell Randomizer DS3 into your Game folder

Simple installation(No universal weapon art hitboxes):
  • Download Weapon and Spell Randomizer DS3.zip from this mod page
  • Move WeaponRandomizer.dll and WeaponRandomizer.ini from Weapon and Spell Randomizer DS3 into your Game directory(\steamapps\common\DARK SOULS III\Game) which can be found via right clicking DS3 on steam -> Properties -> Local Files -> Browse...
  • Rename WeaponRandomizer.dll to dinput8.dll

Config Options
In the config you will find the options formatted like this.
1 = on/true, 0 = off/false, anything else(Such as switch rate being a default "5") is a variable value.


Adds elemental visual effects onto your weapon depending on the infusion
InfusionVisualEffects=1

Choose if you want the randomizer to equip shields or not
IncludeShields=0

If you don't want normal shields but you do want special weapon art shields(Eg. Bonewheel or Dragonhead), leave this on.
IncludeSpecialShields=1

Choose if you want the randomizer to equip Bows and Crossbows or not
IncludeBowsAndCrossbows=1

Choose if you want the randomizer to equip Spell Catalysts or not
IncludeCatalysts=1

Choose if you want the randomizer to equip any other type of weapon or not(Ordinary melee weapons, Whips, etc.)
ExcludeOthers=0

This will treat every possible infusion of a weapon as it's own weapon, making infused weapons much more likely to get equipped.
I recommend you leave this off if you want to get unique weapons like Dragonslayer Greataxe, Ringed Knight Straight Sword etc.
LotsOfInfusions=0

Choose if you want the randomizer to equip random spells that you can use whenever the randomizer chooses a weapon that can
cast spells, I recommend you leave this on.
EquipSpellsForCatalysts=1

Ignore all requirements for use of weapons & spells that the randomizer gives you. This is basically easy mode.
IgnoreRequirements=1

Change the rate at which weapons will swap in seconds. The lower limit is 0.02.
