About this mod

Simple overhaul to make all player based lightning blue instead of yellow.

Permissions and credits
This mod changes all player produced lightning from yellow to blue. I didn't change any of the boss/enemy effects(to my knowledge I haven't actually field tested every single enemy) because I'm mainly using this for personal PvP use and I think it fits better with the lore, if demand is there I will take a crack at it. This also will not be compatible with any other VFX color changing mods without a compatibility patch of sorts, or if you have the know how to open them yourself and combine the files. Finally, all of the fire buffs and the lightning bundle buff(not the resin or Lightning Blade) use the same trail VFX so using fire buffs with this installed will make the little trail they leave behind blue, there is no work around for this other then to leave the lightning bundles trail be yellowish but I think the blue trail works well with the base fire so I made it blue, just a warning to anyone planning to use fire weapons with this installed.

Effects that are changed
  • Lighting Resin, bundles, and Lightning Blade effect
  • Consumables and ammunition such as Lightning Urns and Lightning Arrows/Bolts
  • All lightning based miracles such as Lightning Spear, Great Lighting Spear, Sunlight Spear, Lightning Stake, Lightning Storm, and Lightning Arrow
  • All lightning based weapon arts such as Dragonslayer Great Axe, Dragonslayer Spear, and Dragonslayer Sword Spear

Installation with UXM
  • Download UXM here (don't worry that its under Sekiros page it works with Dark Souls 3)
  • Open the application and put in your game directory which by default is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DARK SOULS III\Game\DarkSoulsIII.exe then click unpack and wait for it to complete
  • Click the patch option and again wait for it to complete
  • Navigate back to your game directory and open the sfx folder
  • Override the existing files there with the files you downloaded from here and you're all set

Should also work with Mod Engine but I have never used Mod Engine so I will not be writing installation instructions for it here.

This mod and any other visual effect mods are 99.99% safe to use online. Of course there is rare cases of people being banned with visual mods but this happens VERY rarely and typically because they were actually using some other mods that are not safe, you should be completely safe to use this online but just in case I wanted to write this.

Lastly, a big thanks to all the people that made modding for dark souls 3 easier with their hard work. Meowmaritus and Amir for the amazing tools, PappaAppa for the fantastic tutorials, and Rodan for compiling an extraordinary in-depth list of all VFX effects. All of these people made it so even an idiot like me could make something like this. Amir actually has a similar mod but for the fire effects that you can check out here, I highly recommend you do.
