oh s#*! you right, been so long since i made this i forgot what mod tool it was for.
Yeah then I don't know if there's any way for igp11 mods to work on steam deck. I'm a little busy to port it over to modengine, which might be more steam deck friendly, but other modders are welcome to do so
I wouldn't mind translating the textures over to .dcx format if you are able to tell me where I can find the vanilla beard texture's corresponding .dcx file.. I am not sure where to find them because I have only ever worked out of the parts folder and cannot find a reference anywhere for the beards. I assume it is part of the chr folder but I have no way of knowing which one(s) pertain to the facial hair without unpacking all 650 .dcx files haha
Actually think I just found them in parts under the fg_3xxx naming scheme. If I get it all sorted, I will edit this comment with a google drive link which anyone can download from, and OP is welcome to add it as an optional file on the mod if they should so please.
Okay so for some reason the ones in images 4 and 16 refuse to show up in-game with this method. Everything else works, but those two don't show up at all and actually seem to make those facial hairs invisible entirely (though this could easily be an error on my end). For this reason I have excluded those two from the file, that way the vanilla hairs at least show up instead. That said, if anyone wishes to use any of the other facial hairs with mod engine, here you go (drop the parts folder in DarkSoulsIII\Game\mod\): Beards_ModEngineEdition.zip
Hey I gotta ask. How are you able to connect the goatee and more importantly, can you do that for Elden ring? I hate that they don’t have any connecting goatees.
I know there's a mod that changes the hair color to be more saturated. But think you'll ever be able to change it so the hair color is the same in game? Blonde hair is really saturated and bright. Would like it to be the same as vanilla so I don't look wonky to other players with a brown beard and blonde hair.
IGP11 should have a button in the program that opens the override folder. If you have any issues finding it, you might wanna ask on the program's mod page.
colors in this particular mod are unchanged from vanilla. I believe another modder created a fix for the colors, along with a compatability fix for this mod. You can find it here: http://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls3/mods/86/?
Although I think that mod actually increases saturation. If you're looking for LESS saturation, you could just adjust the color sliders in game, move all 3 over to the left by the same amount and it should retain the same color with less saturation.
Hmm maybe it's just the way the lighting system is handling the new beards then. Setting the beard color and hair color to the same RGB color code seems to result in two separate colors, but then it looks fine in other lighting. Especially blonde hair, appears almost mustard yellow in some lights.
if that's the case, you should definitely check out the color fix. I believe that is the specific problem the author set out to fix. It is a problem with the default texture's colors, but just wasn't as noticeable with the patchy beards i suppose
