works with lutris too. add the override command to "arguments" section. also works with gamescope. here are my gamescope parameters in command prefix section: "gamescope -w 1280 -h 720 -W 1920 -H 1080 -U -f --" fps capping in gamescope wont work. it must be in FPSconfig file
^be warned. this would not yield a good result
id suggest inject fsr through wine. then use UseCustomScreenDimensions to stretch game resolution to your native resolution. then turn on vsync(or not) through mangohud
sooo I'm guessing this doesn't work with archthrones then...? Doesn't seem like I can get a clear answer anywhere, however I can't for the life of me get it to work and I've tried EVERYTHING. Just strange that I'm somehow the only person on the planet who's wanted to unlock FPS while playing archthrones... There's like 2 other people who asked, but it doesn't even seem like they tried.
If you can't get it to work right away with archthrones then honestly don't even bother wasting your time. It probably doesn't work. At least on my windows copy with vers. 1.15.2
EDIT: go use the proper PC experience mod if you're playing on archthrones. I don't know how I couldn't find that mod off google. Not only does it provide a few extra features, but more importantly it's actually compatible with many DS3 mods. Not saying this to s#*! on this mod creator or anything, I appreciate the work that any modders do, and this mod works perfectly fine when playing a vanilla version of DS3. I'm just saying this to maybe help anyone from wasting away an entire hour trying to get this to work with archthrones.
I haven't really been modding / keeping up with dark souls, but glad you found a solution. At the time this mod was released, there wasn't much demand for compatibility with other mods aside from watchdog / blue sentinel, so the fps patch was naively hardcoded at a specific address. Most mods now implement a pattern scan / aob scan that can find the memory to edit more dynamically, making them work on other / modded versions.
Hello, first of all thanks a lot for the mod. I have a questions tho, is there a way to set a specific refresh rate for this? I use G-Sync and gotta use full screen since windowed gives issues, and in full screen is forced to 60hz. This is avoidable by setting "Highest avaiable" refresh rate in nvidia control panel for the game, but I have an issue with that since my monitor like many other samsung ones at 240hz has a sort of "scanlines" effect issue. I can fix that by setting the Refresh rate at 120hz in other games, but that's something I can't do in ds3. There's another mod on Nexus that allows it, but I trust yours more in order to not get banned. It shouldn't be an hard tweak but I don't have the competences. Thanks a lot if you are able to provide a way
ONLY work when fps=60 & borderless-window. When fps>60, Ashen one will run slowly. My game is v1.15.2, no more mods. my PC is enough for 165fps performance.
its what everyone says about all the games but if someone can make entire new games from mods im sure someone who cares enough will figure it out one day
This mod got me banned instantly lol. I went online and immediately got the message that my account has been penalized for invalid data. Not a big deal because I don't really pvp in DS3 anymore, but just wanted to give everyone a heads up that this 100% got me banned immediately after install.

394 FPS !!!! borderless window!
*for you linux users you'll need to add this line to the steam dark souls launch settings:
WINEDDLOVERRIDES="D3DCompiler_43.dll=n" %command%
*note I was also using vkbasalt and ds3 pvpwatchdog also and they did not conflict as far as I can tell.
great job SaucyX
mine goes barely above 100 in game

On a side note, if anyone wants to take it upon themselves to add this functionality, it would be much appreciated

Mod seems to be working fine, except i can't get the game to run in borderless! I have set the game to windowed, and didnt change the fpsconfig.ini
Edit: Apparently, i had to change the UseCustomScreenDimensions value to 1, the stretching by default to fit the screen wasn't working for some reason

vsync off 165hz panel
Is there a way to unlock fps using cheat engine instead? Not a fan of borderless mode makes downsampling an absolute pain.
It's already ready, this mod was created last week, you can find it on Nexus
