About this mod

Improves gameplay balance, diversifies movesets by splitting weapon classes into subclasses and adding new, unique movesets with vanilla assets, makes kicking and jumping easier, adds a universal shield bash, improves naming conventions and item descriptions, and replaces redundant face presets with more unique ones

It's been a while since I updated this old mod, and I've been busting my ass on some big changes! Last update, my mod just tweaked some params, but it is an official game overhaul with many new movesets and even some source code changes! Here's a small summary of what I did

Weapon Tweaks
Specific Weapons
Dancer's Swords
  • Slightly increased combo damage
  • Slightly increased stun time for the first 2h R1 for better combo potential
Wolf Knight's Greatsword
  • Changed name to Wolf Knight's Sword
  • Added faith scaling to boost damage to more competent levels while giving the weapon more personality
  • Made the weapon infusable and added a blessed infusion called Sword of Artorias
Moonlight Greatsword
  • Changed name to Moonlight Sword
  • Made the weapon infusable with a holy infusion and a heavy infusion

Weapon Infusions
  • Heavy - Added more stamina damage by a bit
  • Sharp - Reduced stamina cost by a bit
  • Refined - Increased critical damage by appropriate amounts
  • Crystal & Simple - Added manasteal and increased souls gained
  • Fire & Chaos - Added a DoT effect that also makes enemies weaker to physical and fire
  • Lightning - Added poise damage
  • Deep & Dark - Added lifesteal
  • Hollow - Added slight curse buildup and item discovery boost

Armour and Jewelry Enhancements
Magic
  • Added dusk crown buff to Big Hat
  • Added small magic damage boost to Sorcerer Hood
  • Reduced sorcery cost when using the Old Sorcerer Hat
Miracles
  • Made a faith version of dusk crown buff for Archdeacon's Crown
  • Added small miracle boost to Nameless Crown and Maiden Hood
  • Reduced miracle cost when using Cleric Hat, Evangelist Hat and Shira's Crown
Fire
  • Made a fire version of dusk crown buff for Sage's Blindfold and Desert Hood
  • Added small fire damage boost to Pyromancer's Crown
  • Reduced pyro cost when using Conjurator's Hood
Dark
  • Made a dark version of dusk crown buff for Zullie's blindfold
  • Added a small dark damage boost to Karla's Hat
  • Reduced hex cost when using Black Witch Hat
HP
  • Added HP regen to Lothric's Hood
  • Added lifesteal to Billed Mask, Smough's helm, Dark Mask and Aristocrat's Mask
  • Added HP boost to Executioner and Winged Knight helms
FP
  • Added FP regen to Court Sorcerer's Hood
  • Reduced WA cost when using Black Hand Hat, Legion Helm and Dancer's Mask
  • Added FP boost to Fire Witch Helm and Sneering Mask
Stamina/Load
  • Added stamina regen boost to Silver mask, nameless knight's helm and Lucatiel's Mask
  • Added max stamina boost to Gundyr, Lothric Knight, Painting Guardian and Lapp's helms
  • Increased load when wearing Exile Mask
Misc
  • Increased bow range when wearing Hunter's Hat
  • Added small boost to souls gained when wearing Brass Helm
  • Made weapons bounce off of Catarina Armour
  • Added kick damage when using Gundyr's leggings and Horsehoof Ring
  • Added rolling damage to Carthus Bloodring

Moveset Enhancements
Daggers
  • Added quickstep to left handed daggers
Straight Swords
  • Split class into subclasses I'm calling short swords, arming swords, side swords and bastard swords
  • Created different movesets for each class
  • Made L1s light attack and L2s parry for most straight swords
  • Switched shortsword's WA to quickstep and programmed it to quickstep in the left hand
  • Switched 3rd R1 of bastard swords to the Hollowslayer's for more fluid combos
Greatswords
  • Renamed to broadswords and split into classes I'm calling longswords, war swords and broadswords
  • Switched third R1 of war swordsto the Hollowslayer's for more fluid combos
  • Added a moveset for broadswords to match the attacks of the black knights in DS1
Ultra Greatswords
  • Took the "ultra" out to generalize them with the lightweight greatswords like the Zweihander and Astora Greatsword
  • Renamed the "Greatsword" to "Berserker's Greatsword" to reduce confusion and because Guts
  • Gave light greatswords a more agile moveset to match their sizes better
  • Gave Lorian's greatsword its own R1s to set it apart from the Profaned Greatsword
  • Gave Cathedral Greatsword its own moveset to match how Guts fights
Polearms
  • Made the Dragonslayer Swordspear more of a spear because it functioned more like a poleaxe in the base game
  • Changed black knight glaive's moveset to make it more unique and representative of Gwyn's special forces
  • Renamed the "Glaive" to "Bardiche" to improve accuracy and reduce confusion
  • Renamed Splitleaf Greatsword to Splitleaf Glaive because a glaive is not a sword
Turtle Poking!
  • Added blocking attacks to straight swords and polearms. I think I also did this for the black knight sword, but don't quote me

Other Changes
Input Improvements (Only works for controllers because FromSoft)
  • Removed sprinting requirement from jumping. Now, just hit Jump while moving at any speed!
  • Added the option to hold A and hit attack to kick or jump attack because the original input is bad
  • Added a left-handed kick input for a universal shield bash
  • Added ability to jump in any direction from ladders by clicking the left stick
Character Creation
  • Replaced redundant face presets with more diverse and interesting ones
  • Changed Commoner's face to look slightly more western
  • Replaced "Northern Warrior" with equally ugly but more interesting "Orc" preset
  • Replaced "Dragon Academy Student" with "Far East Traveler"
  • Replaced "Great Swamp Outcast" with "Carthus Wanderer"
  • Replaced "Londor Valley of Death" with "Melfian Explorer"
Naming Conventions and Item Descriptions
  • Improved naming conventions across the board for better accuracy and readablity
  • Added diverse names for different Stance WAs for clarity
  • Renamed several character creation items because this -> that is more descriptive than this -> very this
Model Morphs
  • Made the Dancer's leggings a little rounder around the waist
  • Made the Dancer of the Boreal Valley a little thicker

Instructions: After you download, paste the zip steamapps/common/DARK SOULS III/Game, then extract it there.

If you have Dark Souls Mod Manager, boot it up, go to the right drive, and tick the mod! 
If not, in modengine.ini, make sure ModOverrideDirectory (near the bottom) points to Vanilla Plus, and useModOverrideDirectory is set to 1.
