About this mod

This is a bad DS3 version of "Dark Abyss Goddess" Shield mod of DS1 (for the Grass Crest Shield)

Grass Crest Shield "Dark Abyss Goddess" re-texture

Re-textures Grass Crest Shield into depicting Manus, Dusk & Kalameet (?) in colors of Abyssal Dark and Dusk Gold.

So, I loved this original mod by GarouD for Dark Souls 1 and spent about 3-4 hours trying to at least COPY the .dds file to be DS3-compatible.
Result is bad but functional. I'm posting this in hopes of someone who knows how to mod takes it and improves it.

Installation
iGP11 is required
Simply copy the contents of the folder "0.9" into your "tex_override" folder (the one located in the DSIII folder, in a path looking somewhat like "C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DARK SOULS III\Game\iGP11\tex_override")

All the hard work was put in this by GarouD and Justin Hernandez whom GarouD attributed as creator in his original post.
Justin Hernandez used this design to enter the Shield Design contest and the design is all his as you can see here. (The "Bloodshield" design was eventually the winner design, which was added to Dark Souls first installment)
I do not own anything of these and honestly I'm sorry for the sloppy job but maybe it's good enough for someone, or even better, someone falls in love with it as I have and tries to improve it!
I will try to work on it as well but I'm starting off from scratch here, so the wait may be long.

What I did
I didn't know a thing about creating-editing mods until 9 hours ago so this is all that I could figure out by myself and how I understand it by reading about it here and there and through trial and error.

First I downloaded a random Grass Crest Shield to see what the name of the texture the game uses to "read" its appearance.
Then I tried simply renaming the old file (and foolingly, its extension too) to the new hash (name of texture) is and the new type of file. Didn't work.
Tried copying the contents of my .png of the old Abyss over a different mod of Grass Crest Shield. Something like "mipmaps" got ruinned and it never worked, let alone that GIMP didn't let me save as .dds despite having the plugin installed.
Ended up opening the .png using DXTBmp and saving it into a .dds DXT5 which made the game actually recognize it but still looks terribly wrong under certain lightning.
Also, maybe my ReShade is acting up and the mod is just fine, more on that later.

Thank you for taking time to read, hope you like it and, by all means, improve away.
