Dark Souls 3 "Lore Overhaul" is a mod that tries at its best to remove the localization mistakes in Dark Souls 3, thus making it more accurate to the original japanese, while making the lore of Ds3 more explicit based on the analyses and theses that were made by "Lokey Lore" which are available on his website.

Dark Souls 3, while certainly having better localization quality than Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1, it certainly doesn't match the standards that Dark Souls 2 achieved in its quality, and so, this mod is an attempt to fix those and make use of Lokey's analyses to highlight details that can simply be ignored by normal players, and along with that, this mod also removes some remnants of an early script of the lore of Ds3, like for example, Cornyx mentioning that somehow Izalith is tied to Carthus, something that in earlier versions of the games was the case, but something that isn't simply true in the final game's lore. Plus, the mod also fixes a mistake regarding Ds2's Greatshield of Glory that was carried over to Ds3, a shield now called "Tower Shield" with another new item description.

Alongside that, some item icons from earlier versions of Ds3 were either switched/redone to fit with the actual item in the final game. For example, thanks to the Convergence Mod (please check it out, its amazing, imo one of the best mods of Ds3 out there), I was able to make the icon of Lorian's Greatsword match its final game counterpart. Bonfire amount was reduced as well, some bonfire names were changed to reflect the area they are at, some bonfire locations were changed as well and there are no longer bonfires which spawn after bosses since bonfires cannot spawn from thin air, they need to be made and placed somewhere according to the lore.

One example of something that was lost in translation is how Gwyndolin multiple times in the JPN script is referred as "Chief God", in other words, the Allfather of the Way of White, King of the Gods, this thus explaining why Lloyd is no longer the Allfather in the times of Ds3

While we may never know the truth regarding the lore of Dark Souls, the analyses Lokey made with the information he found ingame + his translations do provide a comprehensible view of the lore and covers small details that extremely few people have covered in the entire lore community, and I am sure that if you take a look at them, you will be surprised by the amount of small things that make Ds3 a great narrative and not just a "Ds1 part 2" as many like to think.

To install the mod, first download UXM from here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/26

Afterwards, open UXM, select "Browse", then head to the Game folder where Ds3 is at. Then, click "Unpack", and once that is done, click "Patch". With this done, drag the files that are in the "DS3 LORE OVERHAUL FINAL.zip" and drag them into the Game folder.

With this, you have installed "Ds3 Lore Overhaul", and I hope you have a great time with it and hopefully Lokey's content if you decide to check it out!
